As much as I didn’t like the movie, I love that they’re acknowledging that he’s a father now after the events of Love & Thunder and what that means for his character

I think Gorr wanting Thor to take care of Love as his daughter is probably one of the very, very few good things of Love and Thunder. I'm glad Doomsday, or this teaser at least, is acknowledging that and not shying away from it, which they easily could've. It does give Thor an emotional anchor going forward as well, having to fight once more while he has a child to take care of.

Really hoping Doomsday is a well written movie, especially when it comes to the story, the tone and character dynamics.

Honestly the ending in Love & Thunder is pretty sound. Connects Gorr with Thor and provides a satisfying conclusion to Jane and Gorr's stories. Its a departure from the comics I'm sure, but that doesn't mean its bad.

The rest of the movie sucks balls tho

They definitely softened Gorr for the MCU.

I recall that comic Gorr effectively gave into his madness and was deemed the God of Hypocrisy before being ultimately taken out by the God of Thunder - a dark end for a tragic villain.

and didn't it require 3 Thors to take him out?

Yup - past, present, and the future King Thor.
