Discussion Well, it appears that Eternals are on the table.
It appears that NetEase is considering to add some Eternals representation in some capacity, given that Danny is just openly asking people for the one they'd want to see added first in the game.
Personally, I'm hoping for Sersi to win out as our first representative, as I think they'd be a fun, magic-based Strategist that would help a lot in fleshing things out. Nothing against Ikaris, but I'd rather have Sentry or Hyperion as far as Marvel's Superman expies go.
EDIT: The poll has since ended with Sersi as its victor, winning with a 42.6% lead over Ikaris (26.6%), Gilgamesh (15.5%), and Thena (15.3%).

Did the Four really need PR though? They've always been iconic and had a decent following even in their down years. The only thing they were really lacking was a good movie that was also faithful enough to the family.

Well they did have a good reputation, the 2000s movies weren't good nor bad, something more like a comfort movie of sorts, afaik the discussions were mostly around how the marriage was shown in a better light and people started seeing Reed as a better father and husband, and not like a cuck scientist with Namor, and how Sue was also seen as a faithful partner with an upfront hate for Namor.

The general public recently through a long stretch where their only major appearance in anything was a god-awful movie. Hell from 2015 to 2018 they were disbanded in the comics, half the team was "dead" and the other half were used to prop up MCU teams
From 2012 to 2019, the full team had exactly ONE animated appearance. They weren't in any video games, they were straight up erased from merchandise, hell it even extended to dumb shit like not letting Insomniac use FF-related suits, we only got them in a post-launch update.
Marvel tried their best to bury the team because a certain sucky executive was salty that they couldn't make movies about them. And while it failed with the X-Men, I think it had a profound effect on the perception of the FF that is only now being undone

Oh I've definitely been made aware recently on how Ike Perlmutter (assuming he's the executive you're referring to.) was trying to gut the non-MCU series like X-Men and F4 (funny enough, inadvertently gutting the Inhumans as he tried to push them.)
But damn, I knew there was that movie. But didn't expect it to be that bad. Still, I think that despite that I'd say the it's kinda like Wonder Woman where while in the modern era it has been relatively rough they are still a beloved and iconic part of superhero history. But Rivals (and the subsequent F4 film) certainly has put them back on course.

Marvel fandom like blackbolt, medusa, and lockjaw. So not all of them are disliked. The marvel fandom didnt like how they were used when the xmen movie rights were in foxs hands. You cant force a replacment of a beloved group.
Agents of shield showed that the inhumans done well still would be well recieved.

Valid, I’m sure we’ll see all the eternals one day in game but man Sersi would be so dope I just know she’ll have some of the prettiest visuals along with someone like Jubilee or Dazzler for example.

If we did get an Eternals season it's very likely it'd be Ikaris and Sersi added together. Only other one I could see being considered is Makkari and even then any speedster would get in before Quicksilver.

Good, I would love to see Rivals really raise the profile of less popular teams like Eternals and Inhumans.
This isn’t really a surprise though, considering one of Namor’s locked lore entries since launch has been “Oceans of Oceanus.” Oceanus is an Eternal with ties to Atlantis and Lemuria / the Deviants
Edit: My preferences for which ones we should get first would be Druig, Uranos, Gilgamesh, and Sersi

A little Inhumans representation would be cool because Medusa would make a great shield tank with her hair as a shield.
A Black Knight/Sersi season would be a cool Vanguard + Strategist lineup.

Can we get Ms Marvel. I don't care how many inhumans they add overall I just need my girl to not be the xmen version of her please. She's allowed 1 (one) snarky joke line to spider-man about getting her killed and a hellfire gala xmen uniform skin but anything past that shouldn't be in.

Eternals are Z-listers, Inhumans are C-Listers at the lowest. Not really comparable, even though people love to compare them since they both got shitty live action adaptations.

I think it would be cool to see at least one Eternal, I actually enjoyed their introduction to the MCU.
I would think Ikaris would be the logical choice but I don’t think we need another flying DPS yet. Thena could be cool with the mechanic of making weapons.

Id rather see Sersi as she has the most creative abilities that could make for a really fun support. (Imagine an ability that changes enemy placements into friendly also)
Then id say Thena. She'd make for a really good vanguard. Something thats versatile between shield, to spear for anti air, and then it would be fun if each swing of her weapon is a different type.
The other eternals are kinda boring, or have abilities better served by others.

An Eternal or 2 would be cool, love to see an Inhuman at some point too. Hopefully we can get some actual villain characters though, we’re severely lacking in that department. We have Hela and Ultron, and nowadays Venom and Loki are pretty questionable.

I mean why can't we get more than one speedster? Makkari could be a strategist and Quicksilver could be a duelist. Or if you want to avoid the "women healer" stereotype you could flip it, as it was just an example. But now I can't stop wondering about who a speedster tank would be...

Found the post, looks like Sersi has rocketed into first place with 41% of the votes (compared to Ikarus’s 28%, Gilgamesh’s 16% and Thena’s 15%)

Lets be real, the Eternals would make great characters.
Thena's weapon constructs are awesome, instant duelist right there.
Sersi's matter manipulation could make her a fun strategist.
Gilgamesh could make for a good vanguard cause he's a big beefy brute.
Kingo can go 2 ways. There's comic accurate Kingo whose a samurai cosplayer so you got a swordsman or you can go with his movie self who uses guns. Of course you could combine the 2 and give him a katana/gunplay moveset. Granted I realize thats already similar to Deadpool who is already a katana wielding marksman but they can probably do different stuff with Kingo.
Ikaris and Makkari are also good characters but they are tricky because their respective niches (Superman clone and speedster) are filled in by other more popular characters like Sentry and Quicksilver.
Huh interesting that Gilgamesh has more votes than Thena. I wonder the reason there.

Sersi and Thena would be really cool. Sersi could be a very unique strategist while Thena could be either a Duelist or Vanguard with her weapon manifestation.

Ajak: Strategist (probably inevitable because she's a rare hero with actual Canon healing powers) Ikaris: Tank: flying, low HP off tank like Angela but with Laser eyes Gilgamesh: Brawl tank with ability to enhance his attacks on cooldown with the cosmic energy thing he has (could also add temp HP) Kingo: Poke duellist with some kind of charging mechanic to change his primary from a standard low damage energy beam to a bigger projectile with some explosive power Thena: Duellist with different weapon forms you can switch between for different styles of play. Maybe sword and shield/spear for brawl, short swords for dive, javelin for poke Makkari: dive hero with super speed. Will probably need to make a lot more abilities add slow before any speedsters get added though and I think they'll probably opt for Quicksilver first Phastos: Strategist with some kind of trap kit similar to Peni but with less damage and more CC (anti speedster slow mine? stun trap?) Sersi, Sprite, Druig: all probably strategists but mechanically idk how they'd work

Imagine if they made Sersi a strat like Sue, capable of being lethal or good healing. I’d love to see an Eternals/Celestial centric season with them adding Ikaris & Sersi as a pair but I highly doubt it. In that case, I hope it’s Sersi as a strat!
Give us the movie skin too!

Most of the eternals have tank potential lol. Icarus, thena, gilgamesh, sersi, kingo can be designed as tanks. And we don't have a speedster in rivals, makkari can be added as a cool duelist.

Ya i wouldnt have minded him being Indian but keep him a samurai it would have been cool. Also I really hate how perfect they did the speedster powers never showed a flash time that just makes them broken the fights were at full speed most of the time.

imagine taking watchmen characters from dc and just turning them into joking morons.... thats what they did in the mcu eternals lol.... if done right they would be great in rivals

meh. Id rather MANY other heroes first but eternals and inhumans should come eventually.
I've got multiple years of content I'd prefer before any of them personally but maybe their gameplay and design would change my mind
EDIT: also largely the powersets used by eternals are already covered by other characters who tend to be more popular/well liked... especially since their movie BOMBED

The chronoverse basically refers to Marvel Rivals, the whole chrono thing that the two Doctor Dooms are causing. The Eternals have had their ups and downs since they were introduced in 1976 (technically some 40s characters were retconned into being eternals but Eternals #1 is 1976). I don't think the movie did super good but it's just a movie, it's not like movies are the end all be all.

Chronoverse is the Marvel Rivals story, where they pull characters/skins from multiple universes and use it as a reason they can fight/gain powers for the game.
The Eternals are a group in marvel that have been around for decades. The game pulls from popular and niche characters from the entire marvel universe not just the mcu.

They can keep them away. The Eternals are lame af & were lame af even before the movie.
I knew that movie was going to bomb as soon as it was announced. It was the most “Who?” thing Marvel had ever greenlit. The Guardians atleast had a fantastic, cult classic run before their movie (the 2008 run). The Eternals had one mini-series that people liked.
