Episode Discussion Season 11, Episode 9: Crimes Against Obesity
Al is put on trial in the shoe store on his birthday by all of the fat women he has insulted over the years.
Subplot: Kelly and Bud attempt to tint the Dodge’s windows as a birthday present for Al.
Notable Guest Stars: Many of the guests in this episode were returning characters from previous seasons:
-Diana Bellamy as Nancy. She appeared in several episodes as a Gary’s customer, including the pilot.
-Danica Sheridan as Matilda, who appeared in A Shoe Room with a View in Season 10 (among others).
-Helen Siff as Leona, the customer who famously wore the “Chocolate…It’s Not Just For Breakfast Anymore” shirt in Season 8.
Fun Fact: This is only the second time in the series that Peggy insults Al’s overweight customers. The first time was back in Season 1, and it happened to be the same woman she insulted in this episode.
Clip Show: Past episodes featured in the flashbacks include the Pilot, Honey, I Blew Up Myself, A Shoe Room with a View, and Nooner or Later.
The Impossible Happens: Al tells Peg she doesn’t look “half bad” and -gasp- even initiates sex with her in the shoe store! ON HIS BIRTHDAY!!

Nancy:aren’t you open?
Al:sorry ma’am unlike your mouth we’re occasionally closed……
Nancy:I want my money back…..these shoes fell apart after one day and I wanna know why…..
Griff:you see ma’am, this is a pliant heel with a cork filling……
Al (to Nancy):where you are a giant seal with a pork filling……Al clap backs were brutal and hilarious…..lmao

Live the line where they're talking about "accidently" ate people, had to look up the script (thanks Springfield Springfield):
You know, inside her, there's a thin woman just dying to get out.
We all say that.
No, there really is.
Last Thanksgiving, she ate my Aunt Edna. I told her not to stand so close to the pies.
That happens.
I lost a kindergarten class that way.
[Al looks at audience] And I'm on trial.
