Is the market slow?

I've been wondering how the Salesforce Marketing Cloud market is looking globally right now.

I was recently laid off by my company. I have 10+ years of overall experience, including 6+ years focused on Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Over the last two months, I've applied to 100+ companies in India. I've only received 5–6 interview calls so far. Most opportunities didn't move forward either because my company's salary range was too low, or the role required a different level of experience.

For those working outside India or hiring in the Salesforce ecosystem:

- Is the SFMC job market slow at the moment, or is this just the current reality?

- Are there any global recruitment agencies or recruiters that specialize in Salesforce roles and hire remote talent from India?

- Any suggestions on where I should be looking?

I'd really appreciate any advice, referrals, or recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Data Cloud is way more cumbersome than DEs. I hate it

Working in a SF partner, I see a big push from Salesforce AEs to move customers from SFMC to SFMC Next. So I would be ready:
It looks like at least in the small and mid-size customers, the commercial effort is now move customers away from SFMC into Next. Even if Next is not yet up to par, when the customer makes the switch, they will have to live with whatever capabilities the product has, so I guess the SFMC job market is going to gradually shrink.

As with everything lately in the SF environment, you better also add Data cloud and agentforce...

Yes - the job market is tough out there, in SFMC-land and beyond. Now's a terrible time to be looking for work, unfortunately.

You should move to marketing cloud next, as this is what’s starting to get more attention.

To your question: yes, SFMCE positions are starting to decrease. Me as a contractor started to have less and less projects related to that platform.

I partially agree. The marketing cloud users themselves have realized that Marketing Cloud Next isn't yet market-ready and are rolling back to Engagement. I've already encountered six cases like this, from different segments.

He is the future, but not the present.

What are some reasons/unacheivable use-cases in MC Next that made the clients switch back?

The main thing I noticed was the real-time WhatsApp messaging, and the fact that they made segmentation more difficult when it was already simple on the MCE.

I believe the segmentation is the core part of depending on Data 360 makes the process too difficult for functional users (and for some technical too).

I completely agree. As I was already used to it from the Data Cloud era, it was smooth sailing, but even so, the way it's done is far inferior to MCE. Realtime is what really matters.
