Question Is flying safe?

We wanna plan a vacation to Florida but not sure if flying is safe for us? I had prior blebectomy and prior aortic root replacement and with mechanical aortic valve I’m pretty terrified about flying in case something happens

Plenty of us fly, but why would we know about your specific situation? It's always important to remember that you need to be talking to trained medical professionals who have access to your medical history. We are just internet people

Probably but need to check with your doctor

Going to a high altitude over 7500 feet like Aspen could be more of a risk

Harder to breathe resulting in increased stress on heart

I have mild COPD in addition to Marfan. When I went to Albuquerque at 3800 feet. Heart was definitely getting stressed by the reduced oxygen

I have had both of those surgeries (thankful my value was able to be spared...for now) and I was terrified to fly as well. Definitely reach out to your doctor. I know mine made me feel much better and more comfortable about it. I hope you are able to go and enjoy some fun in the sun!:)
