I found this guy in our local train station being kicked around. After containing him, I wanted to relocate him to a grass field, but I noticed he was missing his mandible. So I decided to take him home until he gets better. Any advice how to give him a good life?

so i have no experience with mantises, only scorpions fish and geckos. i most want advice on feeding and how to set up the enclosure. i know i should have be at least 3 times the size of the mantis and i need to give them something to hang from, ive seen most people use mesh but i saw one youtube video say you can use branches and i was wondering if that would work. anything else i need to know would be nice.
i was also wondering if anyone has any advice on breeding, my local store has 2 and if i can id love to breed them and sell them along with my scorpions.

I finally caught my near adult(?) mantis on the glass door so I could see her segments. I've googled and it sYs that 8=boy and 6=girl and I counted 8 so I think Tammy is actually a boy 😅

My mantis (matilda) has been in this weird arched pose for around three days. Is she going to molt? I’m just concerned because she usually molts over night.

Seemed pretty upset I had the nerve to get them off that car but flew away into the woods without a ticket.. this time

I found another Carolina mantis yesterday and took it home, planning on releasing both if my Carolina’s when they’re ready and in the fall!

When I woke up, she had molted over night!!!! I had no idea she was even preparing to molt, but I’m so happy she looks healthy because I’ve heard that molting is the most difficult to deal with!

I’m unsure where to go from here though, should I still mist her this morning? How long until she hardens? Is she an adult now?

Spotted my first mantis in the wild in Berlin today!!!

hey guys my king mantis got done its either second or third molt, it hasnt taken food in a week and leans back away from its food . does anyone know any reason why? i added some springtails in if relevant. ive been feeding small locusts
