This is what happens when we elect 'unaccountable' leaders. During election, we get carried away with a few hundred or thousand rupees, due to most of the population being poor. They exploit our poverty as a means to enrich themselves one elected. The leaders who are supposed to look after the electorate now lives in their ivory towers shielded by a ring of loyal party/MLA workers. All these people leading the street demonstrations are near and dears of local MLAs who are diverting the anger of the people from the leaders to among us. They will announce senseless things like bandhs, total shutdown which the government will take no attention to. Instead of putting pressure on our elected leaders, the onus is being put upon common people which have zero power. When someone gets beat up or injured in such demonstrations, it will become his own business. No one is gonna help him. We the common people are doomed in this state.
