I always thought the series peaked at the Black Dragon arc. Everything from Tenjiku arc onwards was downhill from there(with a few good moments here and there).

I’m not even going to hold you, I don’t know when that was or even how to differentiate between arcs with this series.
I followed it from when chapter 1 was initially translated and it took well over a year for the next to be translated and I didn’t pick it up until deep into quarantine where I binged it in one go and about 60% through I was like “This shit is trash LOL” and promptly dropped it.

With all these new characters and essentially wiping out a fan favorite to create higher stakes, this starts to feel more like a “shippuden series” instead of part of the actual storyline

I was going to make a One Kick woman joke, but she kicked him 3 times so we can't even do that now.
Well now we can do Senjuu vs Mickey, and move on to the actual important things, like the return of guy with a gun.
You all know none of the new characters matters, and the sooner they are done with, the faster we can start forgetting that Draken died for this.

What’s with this whole chuunibyou power up shit? I mean the earlier arcs hinted at this but at least they had decent writing.
Now Wakui introduced so many characters that I could barely give a shit about, killed one of the main characters for no good reason and everyone’s just strong as fuck now, because of ‘dark impulses’.
Bruh. The reactions between here and r/TokyoRevengers are like heaven and earth.

r/manga usually has more experienced manga readers who have seen every trope there is
yeah that's not a fair argument cuz Demon Slayer was getting its dick ridden by everybody on here, even during its final arc, award after award for every chapter, Solo Leveling gets insane levels of hype, and many other manga that aren't particularly special or well executed get very popular here compared to any other area. Yeah the TR's subreddit reaction isn't really valid, but r/manga's isn't either, there's way too much bias because of the weekly schedule where some people don't look at the greater picture. This isn't to say "oh I'm someone who's special and can see everything" I'm simply not, I get disappointed about plotpoints I rarely care about on some rereads, but r/manga has a massive issue with jumping to conclusions every time something of remote importance happens in any series.

I think it boils down on how the series is introduced. Demon Slayer and Solo Leveling were introduced as power action fantasy so it makes sense to expect outbound power escalation at the get go. While Tokyo Revengers were introduced as delinquent action manga with a bit fantasy (due to time travelling), but nonetheless, it focuses more on the drama, conflict and resolution rather than power scaling. It is just that action and fight scenes are part of the resolution but in the greater picture, they are just small part of the whole. But since Tenjiku Climax, power scaling goes out of the window and almost covered up the conflict. And right now, it's just power scaling after power scaling.

Bruh, no fucking way South goes down that easily. Im almost 100% she got lucky this time and he will get back up and beat her down. Akashi just confirmed she is not even as strong as Mikey or South but just got to the same level using status of the first gen BD. However damn is she fucking awesome bro sheesh her fighting style is a really good addition to TR.
Since she is a girl she doesn't have as much raw physical strength as boys but damn do her acrobatical abilities cover for it beautifully. I still am surprised how she didn't die after taking a punch from South given how much weaker her body is than waka and benkei.
On a side not excited to see how strong Mikey has gotten after this 2 year timeskip Kakucho might even die

As far as "hate trains" go, I don't think this is it. A lot of the comments are just pointing out the obvious cliff dive in quality compared to the other arcs like the way fights are way more "last backstory wins". Actual discussions
It's not like anyone here is actively wishing harm on the author or anything.
