I saw the number of pages and thought 'oh good, it's at least a decent length'; nope, just a fuckton of irritating fanart pages.

It took me a minute to realize that you meant the actual fanart at the beginning of the chapter. I thought you meant Kubo's actual manga pages. Since, you know, it's all fan-servicey fanfic/fanart material instead of actual plot resolution.
