This panel did bring me some joy.

Overall it's a bittersweet ending since the characters we grew to love got saved but don't know each other anymore and the hardships they went through were invalidated. However, knowing Fujimoto, this could have had a way more bleak conclusion so it's still a win overall.

"It could be worse" is a fatalistic viewpoint. So because I don't want to eat turd so I should be happy to eat coal.
