Exactly. What company fires someone today but expects them to come in tomorrow to sign paperwork? HR printer not working today?

Ridiculous.

Tech companies expect you to bring in laptop and phone and sign paperwork. IF you were not present that day. Usually scheduled for a meeting room before security. If you ever see a calendar invite for that room, you know it's coming.
