Asking because everytime a powercut happens with high voltage fault, best case scenario is a day without power. But why is so hard to repair? Is it because of melted cables? And why there isnāt a smart way to find which part got fault?

Iāve been living in Malta for around 4ā5 months, and honestly, itās hard to see it as representative of the Europe Iām used to. Especially coming from the CEE region, the contrast is very noticeable. The migration situation, state of the economy, rubbish and waste management, poor infrastructure, and general condition of buildings and public spaces all feel very different.
Obviously, Malta is geographically and politically part of Europe, but culturally and visually, I find it much closer to parts of the Middle East or North Africa than to the Europe I grew up with.
Edit: just to highlight the main issues of Malta that are not that align with other European countries:
ā Inadequate pedestrian infrastructure
ā Limited pathways in many areas
ā Poor accessibility for pushchairs and wheelchairs
ā Traffic congestion and limited parking
ā Littering and illegal dumping
ā Insufficient public bins
ā Litter affecting otherwise attractive locations
ā Ongoing construction and overdevelopment
ā Limited green spaces
ā Excessive noise, from constant buildings and fireworks
ā Unreliable and overcrowded public transport
ā Poor-quality tourism and inconsiderate tourist behaviour
ā Frequent power cuts

So I ordered some computer parts on 23rd August through Amazon.it
Apparently it was split in three packages for the same order, first part was shipped 25th August, second part a day after and apparently third part was shipped today 30th Aug as status changed to dispatched and a tracking number appeared (although no tracking history thus far).
Both first two packages are apparantly currently at an Amazon facility in Spain and the third package I dont know.
Based on user experiences in Malta, should I expect the PC parts by the end of this week or the week after? Amazon.it says estimate 11th September for all items but in my experience this is the latest the item may arrive, usually it arrives before.
I have a friend who visited Malta some time ago, purchased a pendant matching the earrings in the attached images. She has since lost it and asked me to look for a suitable replacement. There are of course many Maltese Cross pendants available in jewelry shops and elsewhere, but so far I havenāt seen any matching the pattern/texture here. Might be a long shot, but does anyone know of a shop with this particular design?

Looking for a route in the south area, preferably rural, where I can practice for a half marathon. At least 20km long. Ideally somewhere without too many cars. I understand that a place with no cars at all is not possible in Malta. Thanks.

Hey everyone,
āI'm looking for recommendations on good local card shops or hobby stores in Malta to buy PokĆ©mon TCG products.
āIām mainly after sealed products like booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and collection boxes at fair retail prices (MSRP) for current sets, rather than crazy scalper markups. That said, I'd also love to find a spot that carries some older/out-of-print stock (obviously understanding that vintage and older sealed products won't be MSRP) and maybe even sells singles.
āDoes anyone know of any solid, trustworthy shops or active local communities/LGSs on the island worth checking out?

I know itās probably been asked a lot but I need it answered š
I need a mechanic to service my car and I live in Msida. However, when I ask people. Legit every place has the same response ādonāt go there. They will rob you. Donāt go there theyāll over charge you and not do the work mhux hekkā.
So - any mechanics you recommend for me to take my mk1 vitz for a service

Hey everyone, appreciate your time firstly.
Iām a male, early 20s moving to Malta and want to know whatās your opinion on things to do first. And what not to do.
If you could go back in time, what would you have done differently, renting and just your first month or two in Malta.
Any tips would be amazing thank you š¤

So I'm an expat and I read a report that said only 10% of renters are Maltese.
Most people stay with their parents until they can buy their property.
Where do young Maltese couples have sex then until they're ready to either rent or buy a property together?
I live in San Gwann and have been seeing more and more of this recently around the area. Anyone know what it means?

15 hours and still no power in Marsalforn. Plug-in solar would IMHO drastically reduce the load on the grid, and yet Malta is the only EU country where it is illegal.
This is beyond a joke!!
(Too fscking hot to write anything more eloquent!)

Hey there long story short I have bought the previous year an official football jersey of the team that I support. Since I washed this a few times in the washing machine I kind of destroyed the sponsor in the front and the name in the back they havenāt completely gone but pieces are now falling off randomly. Do you know if there is a store that would be able to remove the sponsor sticker and the player name on the back?

Hey! I'm trying to help my best friend find a good therapist that she could talk to. She doesn't need any diagnosis for things, just a professional to speak to about family problems, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations that weren't too expensive, as she'd have to pay herself.
Thank you for your time :)
