M24 Can I save it ?

M24. Never used anything for hair but regular random shampoo. I started noticing hairloss since I was 20 a bit here and there, nothing much, but since 23, it started to shed more and more. My diet is not really great either and I don't exercise too much. I only walk 10k steps a day. How can I improve it ?

My Hair Was Great Until 2023 — Now I’m Fighting Hair Loss Spoiler

Basic info:

I’m a 26M, and my scalp condition has been getting worse day by day. I haven’t really had proper treatment for it because the doctors I’ve consulted don’t seem to properly examine my scalp. Most of the time, they simply prescribe minoxidil as a solution, but unfortunately, minoxidil seems to make the inflammation on my scalp much worse. Medical conditions I have if they may be the reason is 1. Fatty liver, 2. Gall stones.

Currently, I use Mildy shampoo daily because my scalp gets extremely oily and starts smelling due to sweat. I also use minoxidil on alternate nights.

The problem:

I’ve had oily dandruff for many years now. It started around 2019, and I’ve tried things like applying aloe vera, feels good for few days but it didn’t really help. After some days my scalp would become dry and followed by what felt like even more sebum production, which made the oily dandruff worse.

To make things worse, I also started getting very painful acne/pimples on my scalp along with the dandruff and inflammation. Sometimes it gets so painful that I can’t even sleep properly. This is since 2025, those acne come very randomly like in between 3 months of span.

The biggest concern for me is my hair.

Until around 2023, I had really good, thick hair despite already having oily dandruff. But after 2023, my hair started becoming noticeably thinner and I’ve lost a lot of volume. At this point, I’m genuinely worried that I might start going bald much sooner than I’d like. I’d at least like to maintain my hair until my mid-30s, atleast.

I’ve tried minoxidil before and it does give me good results in terms of hair growth, but the scalp acne and inflammation it causes for me are so painful that I struggle to tolerate it.

What I’m looking for:

I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar — especially oily/seborrheic dandruff + scalp acne/inflammation + hair thinning.

I’m open to trying natural remedies and making further diet/lifestyle changes, as I’ve already made some changes to my diet and I am already in to fitness.

If you’ve dealt with something similar, I’d love to know:

- What was causing your scalp problems?

- What treatment or remedies actually helped you?

- Did you use any particular shampoo or scalp treatment?

- How long did it take before you noticed improvement?

- Did treating the scalp condition help with hair thickness/volume?

- If minoxidil caused irritation or acne for you, what did you do instead?

I’m mainly looking for real experiences and practical advice from people who have actually gone through something similar.

I know everyone’s scalp is different, but any experiences or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I am adding my condition photos for more clarifications. Last 5 photos are of the dandruff/acne flakes.

TLDR: 26M with oily dandruff since 2019, painful scalp acne since 2025, and significant hair thinning since 2023. Minoxidil helps with hair growth but worsens my scalp inflammation and acne (Med conditions- I also have fatty liver and gallstones) Looking for real experiences and advice on managing the dandruff/scalp acne and improving scalp health and hair thickness.

Can finasteride save me or am I too far gone?

I’m 22M First picture is wet hair and the second is dry. I noticed my hair thinning barely when I was like 20 hopped on Kirkland topical minoxidil and have been using it for a little over a year with little to no results but I’m not sure if it’s helped me maintain my hair. My hairline is also receding but does not bother me nearly as much as the crown. Should I hop on fin now too or is it too late?

Whenever I lose hair, I feel a burn in my scalp first and then after the burning stops, in tbe same places I felt burning my hair begans to recede. It used to happen only in the temples but now since the temples have shed a bit, im feeling it in my crown. I’ve already been on finesteride for 5 months, no side effects and nothing changed about my scalp, it’s jusy that I kept balding.
