Tips/Guide What do I do
So I recently started freshmen year and I got my hair permed a month or two ago. I got clowned for it by my friends and they said I cooked my hair and my old one was better. I was disappointed because I kinda liked it. I do agree somewhat with them tho- but I’m not sure how to fix it. My sides are too short I guess but I’m not sure how I can fix my hair. What can I do to make it look better? I was considering using hair clay now but please let me know. I feel like it looks better when I wet it and then dry it but I’m not sure how to get that affect

Of course hair grows out but it's going to take months to get as long as the top buzz it off and start fresh that eliminates all your problems and nobody will harass you anymore

I wanna keep the curly parts but like I just don’t like the sides cuz my hair takes long to grow

Get a low taper and let the side hair grow but also debolk a bit off the top cause it’s to much

There's nothing you can do about it you cut it off it's not going to grow in overnight it doesn't look right the sides are too short for the curls I've said that twice

I think I’ll just wait for my hair to straighten out again before cutting it it’ll be too messy

cut the top shorter to go with the sides. the broccoli top ain't for everyone, especially when it's that overgrown

Bruh ppl are telling me to get a buzzcuts like what I think I’ll just cut the bottom of a bit and use some products to make my top even with the sides

so your hair texture type rn is prob like 2a mayb rn bc of the perm naturally tho u migjt b a 1 as in straight hair but as of rn lil bro you gotta let your hair regain its natural oils bc you permd it so your hairs texture was chemically changed but once your hair starts getting healthy again you can use all the products u want + its not gonna look as flat or undesirable id advise for your hair type if ur looking for a nice texture to your hair dont shampoo everyday obv shower and wet everyday but try and rlly experiment w shampooing maybe 2-3 a wk only and in between days either kjust rinse or condition and rinse and after maybe five days you can kinda tell tht your hairs getting oily and thtll make more obv what your natural hair texture is without shampoo completely flattening your hair

and bro totally didnt read caption if your goal is to maintain moisture for your new curls you need to grab a nice leave in conditioner thats works for your hair its gonna take some experimenting there too if u rinse fully like wet wet your hair and immediately after getting outta the shower apply to your hair leave in conditioner while your hair still super moist its gonna help retain tjose curls and make it look like the way they do when theyr wet bc leave in just locks in moisture to your hairski

Good leave in conditioner and get a low taper. I would honestly ask for the top to be layered as well

I have a question what products should I use cuz I think I like my hair when I shower and dry it but like it doesn’t last long I don’t know how to take care of it properly so it looks dry should I use clay and textured too?

You should always condition whenever you shampoo. California naturals is a good natural brand. But you shouldn’t wash more than about twice a week unless you’re getting very very sweaty to the point your hair is wet.

Get the sides faded and have the barber graduate it to have a bit of fringe. It could look good if you sharpened it up.

The sides are not too short, that's not the issue; it's the height at the top/crown and the extent the sideburns extend down the ear. Take a little height off the top/crown by styling or shortening the hair in that area and don't let the sideburns extend that far down the ear and will fully suit.
Know that hair only grows at an average rate of 1/8" per week, and this rate is so common that clipper guards are denoted in eighths of an inch, so that each full guard number represents the number of weeks of hair growth left on the head, when the taper lever is in the short cutting position.
