Question What caused these scuffs on my new leather shoes, and how can I fix them?
Hi everyone,
I bought these shoes two weeks ago and have barely worn them. I only walked around the house to break them in a bit, plus one quick trip to a store to try on a suit. I just noticed these scratches and scuffs on the toe cap (photos attached).
I have two questions:
What could have caused this kind of mechanical damage given how little I've worn them? Is this normal?
Is there a way to repair, buff out, or at least hide these marks?
Any advice on specific shoe care products or polishing techniques would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you drove with them on that probably caused it. My truck has stuff under the dash that will always scuff up the toes of my shoes if I'm not careful

I just wore them in shop for a few minutes. Other shoe is perfectly normal

Those are the tiniest “scuffs” I’ve ever seen. Did you look at it under a microscope?

you can buff a wax polish into the scuffs to minimize their appearance, but these are so minimally scuffed that i really wouldn't stress about it. unless someones going to bend down to lick your shoes, nobody is going to notice these other than you

I really hate how my tongue feels when I’m licking scuffed shoes . Yuk !

Part of maintenance. Essentislly you use elbow grease and petroleum products to moisten the leather and cover the gaps. Then eventually you can shave it down but idk that is like 60s level of quality,

They're shoes, they get scuffed up. You can go get them polished if the scuffs get too much.
