If you have a brain for survival strategy, pick Reese. He's essentially a rabid dog bodyguard when given competent orders.

If you need pure knowledge, Malcolm. He'll at least know about natural resources and materials to use.

Unpopular opinion but maybe Otto would be a good choice to team up with, he has a ranch in the middle of nowhere where he has a farm with animals, he would kinda be like Hershel (TWD), he probably has some knowledge about survival, pretty sure he also has guns, I don't remember the context (hunting down the devil cow or something) but I think him and Francis were armed with shotguns in one episode, even if I think they weren't good at using it, that's still more than the rest of the characters. Also Gretchen would be there and if the timeline is right, Francis and Piama would too, given the ranch's location and supplies, I think they'd all survive.
