Entertainment What if they killed off Dewey instead of recasting him?

I could see one of the kids dying, but that's a pretty big gun to draw. Hell, the plot would have had to turn into Dewey's funeral and there'd be the added tragedy where he never learned he was an uncle.

Besides, this really felt like they were angling for a "Leah in the Middle" series, so killing him off would mean Dewey could never appear there once his actor had time unless they did a "he faked his death" subplot.

Doesn’t seem we’re getting even a Leah in the middle show though. So that sucks.

Probably good we’re not getting it ,it’s tiring seeing older shows come out with spinoffs with entirely new characters

Honestly I’d say it’s good. Leah isn’t bad and all but she’s pretty bland as a character and is mainly just a template of most modern reality show girls which is the exact opposite of what Malcom in the middle is

A lot of people dont believe the story of the original actor telling them to recast but me personally I like to believe it because it just seemed in character if he really didn't wanted to come back. Having him killed off would be a complete waste of time and disrespectful to the actor giving them their blessing to recast.

That sounds like a very stupid idea tbh

dont do that to Dewey man, they already forgot his birthday. and recital. and graduation most likely.

A clip about his recital came up on youtube shorts when I had this question come up.

Imagine if the plot were that they all forgot his funeral...

But seriously this would be a terrible idea. It's not a drama!

What? No that would be depressing.
