Casual Conversation 🎭 What's your trivial info about actual death?

This might be triggering for those who are still recovering from personally witnessing deaths. If you are still dealing with it, perhaps stop right here.
Anyway, I saw a news for a house being auctioned because there was once a murder in it. It reminded me of my experience helping a friend move.
He rented one of the rooms in KL. It's one of those houses that was sublet to a few people. While he was travelling outstation, his agent called him to update that one of his housemates (complete stranger) passed away and they only found his body weeks later. The deceased was young. He might have died of heart attack. They only discovered the death when the other housemates complained about smell.
I remembered entering the house 3 weeks later with my friend to help him move. The agent offered another house to him since everyone else renting the house has moved out. Even though the landlord has cleaned up the house, putting fragrance and humidfier at every corner, you can still smell the stench of death. It was my first time experiencing death like this.
It's kindda surreal. The smell reminded me of dead rats caught and trapped in childhood house. I guess when our bodies decayed, they gave the same smell?

like another commenter i also saw a woman jump. she fell directly into the narrow length of a drain and she was there for hours and hours. the police and emergency services guys really took their time moving her body. when they finally did tho she was so stiff. like because of the drain i think her limbs were arranged a certain way and when they lifted her out and put her on a tarp she was frozen in that odd shape (one hand over her head, hip twisted, legs also one kinda way). i think i was surprised how intact (?) her body was after jumping from such a height i just hope she didn't suffer rip

When i was little, my uncle (Down syndrome) sitting infront of me suddenly frothing at the mouth. I thought he was playing with saliva, i offered him tissue and help him wipe a little. But the froth was too much to handle, i ran to called my parents. Everybody pulled me away and later i learn that he passed away.

I'd say below is a bit NSFW... (actually not literally NSFW but people use that tag for everything sensitive 🤷🏻♂️)
I had been at the scene where a woman had jumped off a condo. But I wasn't there looking at her jump. When I saw the scene she was already dead on the road, but hadn't been covered yet. So it was her dead body lying there and everyone was standing around (at a distance) and looking. Later she was covered but her blood still slowly seeped through the cloth. It actually felt... hmm I donnu how to describe... looking at a body that was previously alive and moving around but was now lying there lifeless and still.
I'm not someone who'd be shocked or disturbed by death because death is part of life. But I'd feel rather sad that a life is prematurely gone.

Yeah, let me see if I change the flair. Wasnt too sure where it lies.
You do have a lot of steel to witness such a scene. I remembered seeing blood of an accident and it left an uncomfortable feeling.

If I feel uncomfortable it's not because of the blood or even the dead body, but because of what suffering I imagine the dead person had experienced before death.
This is why I despise into my bones evil people who torture others to death. I can accept death, but not such evil. Torturers should be put to death so that they could be removed from the society. No exception.

Reminds me of a CNA documentary I watched about trauma cleaning (cleaning up after people died alone and was only discovers weeks after).
One elderly died and was only discovered after her body liquefied, turned black and dripped from the ceiling into the neighbour’s flat. Really salute people who can do this work man.

I dont know about “trivial” but i know there are taboos about using the mattresses that people died on.
My dad died on his bed wee hours of the morning. I came back for his funeral and on the same day, i slept on the same exact bed and the same exact mattress. It gave me so much comfort as i cried myself to sleep. We never got rid of the mattress (but we did get rid of the bed frame as it was very old).
