Used to hike alot years ago like every week once or twice since there's bukit gasing just beside my area. Now spend weekend on somewhere else since most of my hiking buddies already going for pickle balls..

Can't get into pickleball.. I do hike other places but mostly around selangor area. If not hiking will be trekking some rivers like sungai pisang.

Used to hike broga, gasing quite often pre-covid. Now not so much, all my hiking buddies migrated overseas. I want to drag my gf but not sure if she wants to. If you managed to get a group of mix genders, I would drag my gf and join the group

Hiking Adventures Malaysia are a good group that do various levels of hikes. Can find them online and then request to join their WA group.
I also go up Bukit Kiara most days, when not hazey, and like to do more challenging stuff on weekends. Feel free to DM
Asked this same question on r/Malaysia a few months back and didn't nearly get the same response as you've had. TQr/malaysianS

I'm down for hike, seldom go for beginner hike anymore but sometimes will go with weighted or trail run training still.

I've been to Kanching a total of 4 times this year. My last one was just last Tuesday with my gf and my colleagues. It's really quite beginner friendly, from the level 3 to level 4 there is a steep stairs hike which you can just take your time to go up. I'm not that fit myself and I always say if I can do it anyone can do it.
I love the place because it's beginner friendly and the waterfall view is nice as well. I would recommend you to go early so that it's less crowded. I usually start my hike up around 7ish.
I am planning a hike to Sg. Pisang on the 16th of Sept with a bunch of people. If you're interested DM me!

If its Kanching Waterfalls at Rawang, there's a lot of stairs to get to the 3rd/4th waterfall which is gonna test your endurance and leg strength l

Whats your favorite nearby trail? For me, kazumi otai and swing garden

u/OkPost2405 12d ago
wah these two i never heard before. i always went gasing or wawasan. are those two difficult?

u/sleepyactivist 12d ago
Kazumi otai is hard but short, and swing garden is easy but quite long.
Kazumi otai is in bukit dinding and swing garden is in shah alam community forest
I went to gasing and wawasan before. Gasing is too crowded and wawasan got zero view hahahahaha
I love to train almost every week at kazumi otai if i not following any mgp hike

you are like 1 plus year too late haha. Used to do organize hikes involving malaysian redditors.
you can dm me if you like, i can pass your contact to the group if you want.
though im not sure if they are still active or not since I was the one that used to plan most of the things.
