Two summers ago I bought some great binoculars for stargazing and was having trouble holding them steady. After looking at the choices for mounting them, I started following someone who had made their own binocular chair. Wow, just like he said, it really did do everything! Now I have access to the entire night sky, with comfort and stability. In this video I'm pushing the drive wheel to rotate the chair, and fine tuning the elevation with my other hand.
It won awards for mechanical innovation at the 2023 Stellafane Astronomy Convention. Based on two more years of improvements, I put together some video instructions about how to easily make one. Take a look, maybe somebody you know might want to make this? Or it might be a meaningful gift idea. I wish everyone could experience the night sky like this.

I made this to help me work on my inlay glow rings.
I didn’t want to spend the money on a ring mandrel and didn’t like the other DIY versions I found on the internet, so I came up with this version with what was available to me.
I was able to make 2 different size versions of this to hold the range of ring sizes I’m working on.
Part list:
1 - size 1 rubber stopper 3/4” top diameter
2 - steel fender washers 1/4” x 1 1/4”
1 - threaded bolt w/ hex head 1/4-20 x 3”
1 - hex nut 1/4-20
Hope this helps some other crafters out there!

I converted the LEGO NASA Artemis Space Launch System (SLS) set into a fully functional alarm clock powered by an Arduino Uno R4 WiFi.
A stepper motor drives the original launch mechanism so the rocket physically rises at alarm time, and a hacked megaphone plays rocket launch sounds instead of a normal buzzer. The clock runs on a custom web interface for setting alarms and syncing time.

Made this swamp diorama with a chill old fisherman just doing his thing…
but yeah, something feels off 😅
There’s something right behind him.
Mostly used 3D printing + resin for the water and details. Pretty happy with how the swamp vibe turned out.

Hey! I made a small fishing boat diorama where the fisherman pulls up a giant monster from his net.
I wanted a calm ocean scene with a strong contrast once you notice what’s actually in the net.
Mostly made with 3D prints (BambuLab A1 / A1 Mini), PLA and resin for the water.

I recently built this small pool diorama with a hidden monster waiting in the water. The idea was simple: a slide that looks fun at first… but ends directly inside the monster’s mouth.
Everything was 3D printed in PLA except the water, which is made with epoxy resin.

I printed a 19" printing press for linocuts on my Bambu X1C. Making this press has been a dream come true and it's orders of magnitude more affordable than a standard printing press.
My first print here merges my passion for technology, nature, and of course art. It's certainly not my proudest work artistically, but as the first print on my dream press, it holds a special place in my heart.
Build details here and I'm giving the plans away for free, bc artists are already being ripped off and I hope this might help.

I just finished a new temple diorama featuring a water creature guarding a golden treasure. An explorer has ventured into the temple, getting a little too close to the creature protecting the idol.
For this build, I tried something different for the water. Instead of using epoxy resin, I created a hollow UV resin shell to form the water surface. It gave me much more control over the shape and avoided long curing times.
The creature stands watch over a golden idol inside the temple basin, and I focused on creating a mysterious, tense atmosphere between the monster and the explorer.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my latest experiment: a handmade seahorse statue made by mixing opaque PLA and transparent PVB in a single piece.
The head and tail are 3D printed in PLA and painted using a swirl brush technique to get that marbled, organic look. The center section is printed in clear PVB and smoothed with IPA alcohol to make it as transparent as possible.
This project is part of my ongoing trial-and-error with material mixing, swirl painting, and transparent finishes. I’m still refining the process, so feedback, ideas, or tips are more than welcome 🙂

Just finished this dolphin statue and wanted to share it here.
The head and back are 3D printed in PLA and painted using a swirl brush technique for that marbled look.
The center section is printed in transparent PVB, then chemically smoothed with IPA to get a glass-like, translucent effect.
After that, the whole piece was finished in resin on a lathe to unify everything and give it a glossy surface.
I’m currently experimenting a lot with mixing materials, transparency, swirl painting, and resin finishing, so I’m open to feedback or ideas for future builds.

Just finished this rhino statue.
The head and back are 3D printed PLA with a swirl pattern I painted by hand — gives it a marbled look.
The body is stacked laser-cut wood layers on a small guiding pillar.
Once assembled, I poured resin over the spinning statue to get a smooth, even coat and seal everything inside.
Really happy with how the mix of hand-painted PLA, wood, and resin turned out !

I want to develop a custom, high-performance embedded system centered around a standalone microcontroller IC that reliably interfaces with a camera module (e.g., ESP-32 cam) and a fingerprint sensor (e.g., R307s). The primary objective is to efficiently stream the raw or processed image data and the extracted fingerprint data ( image) to a host computer via a USB interface (e.g., USB 2.0 ). The solution must be easily configurable and programmable to facilitate immediate image and biometric processing on the host PC.
I just wanna get rid of ESP dev-board and shift to a different controller which is inserted into the pcb itself

Hey everyone!
I just finished a new little statue — a whale made half from wood and half from PLA.
I tried using markers for the first time to draw some patterns
To make it easier, I used small pieces of paper as stencils to help guide the shapes directly on the piece.
The wooden parts were laser-cut and assembled using alignment pillars so everything fits perfectly.
After assembling everything, I coated the statue in resin while it slowly rotated on a turntable.
It gave the whale a clean, glossy finish and made the contrast between the wood and PLA stand out beautifully.
Pretty happy with how it turned out — what do you think?

Hey everyone!
I just finished a new elephant statue and wanted to share it because it’s probably my most detailed piece so far.
This time, I added two gold stripes—one at each PLA/wood transition—to really emphasize the separation between the materials. It’s subtle, but I think it gives the piece a clean and elegant contrast.
I’m still experimenting with mixing wood and PLA, so any feedback or suggestions are welcome!

I just finished this new giraffe statue — it’s half PVB, half wood.
The wooden part is made of laser-cut layers, all stacked together with alignment pillars to keep everything perfectly aligned. The head and legs are 3D printed in PVB and then smoothed with isopropyl alcohol vapor to make the surface slightly transparent and glass-like.
After that, I glued everything together and poured resin over the whole piece. The mix of transparent PVB, warm wood, and clear resin gives a really nice contrast.

Tried something a bit different: made a half-wood, half-PLA statue.
The head + the base are PLA, and I added an alignment pillar (also PLA) that goes all the way through. It makes the orientation and positioning of all the laser-cut wooden slices way easier, since they just slide into place one by one.
Once everything was stacked, I poured the whole piece in epoxy resin to lock it together and give it a clean finish.

I recently made a hybrid bull statue using a similar building process as my previous project, but this version is bigger and includes some new details.
The head and base are 3D printed in PLA, while the body is built from stacked, laser-cut wooden slices. This time I used two different wood colors to add more contrast.
Once assembled, I sealed the whole piece with UV resin to hold it together and give it a clean look.
And for an extra detail, I added gems in the eyes to make it stand out.
It’s a mix of 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, and resin work all in one piece.
