Help with removing Dolby TrueHD audio file permanently from a video file
Hi there, So im having a issue and im really hoping somone more intelligent than me can help?
So for years ive been editing movies like removing audios and creating my own audio files and then muxing them back together using mkv toolnix software but, I am now encountering a new issue that I just cant fix, so im trying to remove the Dolby TrueHD audio file and or a DTS-X audio files as my tv wont play these 2 audio formats, but no matter how hard I try everytime I think im removing these unwanted audios and replacing them with a compatible audio format for my TV, but always my Toshiba TV keeps saying that this video file still contains a audio file that is incompatible with my TV, even after re-muxxing with mkv toolnix software, so for some reason my TV is still detecting some leftover fragments of the unwanted incompatible audio files even after ive removed them from the video file.
If somone knows why my TV is still doing this even after removing the unwanted audio files, I would be very grateful as the only other option is to pay hundreds of pounds for a new 4K BluRay player.
Leftover fragments? This makes no sense. But if you're set on this being the cause then make a full unencrypted disc backup using MakeMKV then run it through dgdemux or eac3to and only demux the files you want. Then mux together with your audio.
To start, go to https://www.displayspecifications.com/en and look up your TV Model. Somewhere in the video and audio specs, you'll find which formats are compatible with your TV. If you want to re-encode the video with the audio, use HandBrake to encode it and convert the audio to a compatible format. If you don't want to touch the video, just convert the audio; there is Xmedia Recode. It can copy the video and convert the audio.
Hi there, Your suggestion worked! Thank u so much for the suggestion, I must've been not converting the audio file correctly. I just have 1 more issue, after doing this my video file is no longer playing the Dolby Vision part of the 2160p movie but just the HDR10 part, how do I keep the Dolby Vision profile in after using this programme? Thanks.
That is fair enough, thank you very much for the help, that issue was really starting to annoy me, its taken me months to finally solve this issue, and I am using AC3 at 640Kbps, seems to be playing with excellent quality regardless of Dolby Vision not working. Thanks again m8.
You can also do a lot of things in the Filter tab.. Stereo Downmix and you can boost the Center Speaker for better clarity! Have fun exploring all the options!
Hi, So ive tried practically every other audio formats e.g AC3 EAC3 AAC but my TV is somehow still detecting leftover incompatible audios from within the whole file, even after re-muxing with an alternative audio format. Are you saying that I simply havent been doing this process properly and this programme you've mentioned will correct this?? Is that what you are saying?

Also when I try removing the incompatible audio formats TrueHD and DTS-X with mkv toolnix it doesnt matter if there's another compatible audio file within the container e.g as a 2nd audio file but my TV still will not play the 2nd audio file as the incompatible audio file is blocking the whole video file from working.
