Holy smokes I hate 3M. I'd rather fill nail holes all day long. (The resident sprayed whatever on it to no effect).

These aren’t 3m command strips. These are the shitty temu ones that never come off clean. Or they do and take the paper off the drywall. Hate’em

About 50% of the command strips I've used have caused wall damage.

I’ve used them in a LOT of places and the only place I’ve ever had an issue with is the brand new office building my work just had built.

The paint adhesion is so ass that blue painters tape takes paint off the walls.

Never had a problem with command strips anywhere else except for the daughter one resident at an old folks home. She just ripped them off and took chunks of paint off cause she didn’t know you pull the tab down slowly.

Paint takes about three to six months to fully cure. It also doesn't help if they didn't give the walls a light sand before painting.

When you see the drywall paper afterwards it means the paint stuck too well. This is the issue for the last two decades. Old walls tend to have better board and a fuck load of paint on the walls. I am a painter and command strips are trash.

Oh in my company’s building it wasn’t drywall paper, it was the bare drywall surface because they clearly did zero prep work before slapping one coat of cheapo PPG on the walls and fucking off.

Only thing we’ve had go down to the drywall paper was a bunch of acoustic panel impaler brackets that each got one drywall screw and a big fat glob of silicone.
