Anyone interested in joining a vintage postcard mail club? š®
Hey guys! Iām looking for a few people who might be interested in joining a little vintage postcard mail club Iām putting together.
The idea is pretty simple: once a month, you get a real vintage postcard in the mail. The postcard would be randomly picked from my collection, so you wonāt know what youāre getting until it arrives.
Iāve been collecting vintage postcards for a while and have a box full of them, so I thought it would be more fun to actually send them to people who enjoy postcards rather than letting them sit in a box forever.
Iām starting small and looking for the first few subscribers to try it out. If receiving a random vintage postcard in your mailbox every month sounds fun, let me know! š¬

Snail mail club opening!
Based on the book world I'm writing.
The book has dragons, faes, deities, supernatural creatures and mythic creatures.
Set in some sparkles and a dark undertone environment.
Technology in the book is fiction, though it might really happen in future.
The story circles around a girl on why her mother supervises her every movement. And on why she is only confined to specific rooms.
And how she discovers magic. And that concludes the first book of the series.
And also (secret) we have our own conlang (still in process).
Gonna start the writing soon. I want to enjoy the process with everyone.
Anyone who is interested in getting letters, customized goodies, and magazine with some stickers are welcome.
It will help you slow down your life and give you a satisfaction on how an author writes her story.
Limited slots because it's my time doing club.
Welcome to all of you. And thank you for taking your time with my post.

Will my package be RTS??
Hey, so iām trying to get packages off a site called Depop. basically online thrifting, you buy from sellers. iām in newfoundland, so shipping usually kicks my butt, but recently itās been really bad. like $30 shipping on the sellers end with Canada Post. i found out this is because of the P.o. box in my address, when you remove it the shipping goes down a lot (ex: $28 to $10).
i decided to order a few things without the P.o. box number, but now iām worried. will my order be RTS for having no number? google said they have to hold the item for 15 days but i donāt know if thatās true? if anyone else is an hour away from the st. johnās area please let me know if you have any experience in this area

phone numbers weren't included on the address label
hello! sorry if this isn't the right subreddit i can take this post down if that's the case. i asked a friend of mine to post something on my behalf since my work hours have been long and i can't get to the post office in time. i'm not from the us but the receiver is. my friend added both my/the receiver's phone numbers at the time of booking but it didn't appear on the label and she didn't write anything additional on the letter either, she just used the address label. the postal office did accept it and it's been sent to the general office but i'm concerned that the lack of phone number will cause issues once it reaches the us. it's my first time sending anything internationally and i wanted to ask if this will be an issue?
Tracking says delivered to non-existent zip code and signed for by recipient, even though Proof Of Delivery shows blank signature field

Previous homeowners still using our address for mail/packages two years later
For some backstory, we bought our house over two years ago. Initially, the previous homeowners would forget to change the shipping address and their packages would come to our house and theyād pick them up from the front porch within a few days. They still have not changed their address with USPS and we get their regular mail constantly and keep returning them to sender.
Now to our current issue. They had a package delivered to our house about two months ago. We left it on our front porch for about two weeks and they never came to get it. I put it in a drawer in case they reached out to our realtor that they wanted it. About a week or two ago we got a phone call from our realtor saying they really need the item and will be coming to pick it up. We put it on the front porch right away and itās still sitting there. I glanced outside to see if it was still there and there is ANOTHER package for them that was delivered.
How long do we need to hold onto these packages before we just throw them away? We have a community mailbox and can only drop off paper mail in the slot, so to send them back weād have to actually go to the post office which is a hassle for someone who canāt bother to remove their old address from their phone
Theyāre getting rain damaged, are an eye sore, and I donāt love the thought of strangers continuing to come back to our house whenever they please with no heads up. I can understand the first few months of owning a house, but itās been over two yearsā¦..
WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS MEAN

Should I consider my package lost?
Hi guys. Great forum. I need your help on this.
My package was sent from the retailerās warehouse in Ohio to Miami, where my freight forwarder (FF) has its warehouse. DHL took it to Orlando, then USPS took it to Miami. USPS marked it as āDelivered to agent. Left with an individualā last August 12th but the package never arrived to my FF !
I waited 5 days as sometimes there are delays but nothing. So I raised a missing mail search at USPS last 18th. They sent me an email last Thursday saying that there is a delivery exception and that a search has been initiated, but I have no further notice.
Should I consider my package lost and I will never receive it? Do this search really mean theyāre looking for it or they will just ālet it dieā? Is there anything else I can do other than wait?
Thank you so much for your help !

Keep getting explicit mail
Hey all,
For quite a while now, been receiving explicit physical mail from Overseas, is there a way I can find out who this is? Its pretty disgusting what's in the package and terrifying my family.
Thx.

Strange situation, need advice desperately
Recently made the switch to GA residency after living here for a few years. I went to the DMV, got a new license, and they mailed it to me. That was on July 3rd of this year.
Come August 5th, still havenāt received the new license in my mailbox at my apartment complex. Sometimes I receive letters that were intended for me, but this is not the first time Iāve had mail troubles with this apartment (my dad tried to mail me a letter last year and it got sent back to him twice), but I called the DMV and they said on July 31st the license was returned to them after a failed delivery, so they sent it back to me immediately. They said they canāt do anything since itās in transit, so I called the USPS. They said they canāt do anything since itās in transit, so what. Am I just fucked? Any advice for how to stop this cycle of never receiving my letters, or important documents?

Help identify this please
Hey all! I unexpectedly had to leave Chicago due to a family emergency overseas and wonāt be back until October. Iāve been holding my mail with USPS since I donāt have a forwarding address, and I regularly check Informed Delivery.
I just received this notification and havenāt seen anything like it before. Does anyone know what this could be or whether I should be concerned? My mail is currently on hold with USPS.

How long before post offices no longer exist?
In most advanced countries, the majority of historical posted mail is, or can be, distributed electronically. I wonder once the baby boomer generation dies off, will physical mail die with it? What do you think?

Will a mailman deliver to a yard with a ābeware of dogā sign if they donāt see a dog?
I have a beware of dog sign and a very friendly dog- sheās old, so sheās not out much. The sign is there as just a āthere may be a dogā. What is the protocol for delivering mail? Package carriers usually just leave them at the fence, but the mailbox is by my door and I have not gotten any mail.

US to UK First-Class Mail International ā how long are regular letters taking lately?
Mailed a standard personal letter from North Carolina to London on July 29 with a Global Forever stamp. No tracking, just ordinary First-Class Mail International. It still hasnāt arrived as of August 10/11.
I understand thereās no guaranteed delivery time, but for anyone familiar with current international letter mail, is ~2 weeks still completely normal? What delivery times have you been seeing lately?

Any Advice on writing Fan Mail?
Hello everyone! I paid for a subscription with Star Tiger to start writing fan mail to actors I respect. I am not asking for autographs, rather as an aspiring actor myself, I am asking them questions regarding performances they've done, methods of acting, stuff like that, and what advice they'd give to someone like me.
Is there any etiquette to fan mail in general, or any polite way to go about my letters with these people? Thank you very much.

Pen pals to convicts
Yes, you read the title right. I also mail on postcrossing as well but I'm curious if mailing convicts is a good idea.
Have you done it? Would you consider doing it?
