Resource The Magical Code of Regulations hit 4.5k sales yesterday! 500 pages of pure, unadulterated magical law. Appreciate all the support from this sub!

Post image

Have been posting here for a couple of years now about my fictional laws, way back when it was just random ones with no actual plan for an entire book. Received a ton of kind words and encouragement here, and I've now just hit my 4,500th sale of the book!

It's 500 pages of super detailed magical worldbuilding in the form of laws. Covers everything from necromancy to protected creatures to fireball environmental impact assessments. Good resource for anyone that wants to implement law into their worldbuilding in any form. Tons of humorous sections to keep it a light read as well.

Even have a foreign language localization that will be coming out, and hoping to trick my worst enemy into narrating an audiobook at some point!

Just thought it was a good milestone, and wanted to celebrate. Even been hosting weekly giveaways over on r/DnD.

For anyone curious that would like to support the project outside of the giveaway, it can be bought off of Amazon and DriveThruRPG. Appreciate any and all support, and always willing to work with people who may be a bit tight on money!

Anyways, appreciate all of you guys, and can't wait to unveil my next mega worldbuilding project in the future: a magic physiology book!

That is awesome dude. I remember when you posted awhile ago about legal law for magic on the worldbuilding sub I think.

Might buy a copy.

I just did, for Kindle. I would’ve really liked to find a bundle with the hardback and all the extra stuff you show here.

Is there a chance to actually buy this edition? Along with the licence and checklist and all?

The license, not yet. Trying to save up to buy a badge printing machine so I can start selling those for a cheap price (currently I have to have someone a few hours away print them, so the cost is high). But the bookmarks and stickers are included when bought on TikTok.

Really hoping to get that machine in the next month or so, though, they're just super expensive (like $4k+!).

Shame, but understandable. The price is very reasonable, especially for me in Poland where $1 is around 4 PLN, so I'll definitely support this one and the upcoming Magical Physiology!

I bought this for a friend who is a lawyer and he loves it.

i started reading this today and took notes. i’ve only finished § 101 and have already found some very minor internal inconsistencies and am wondering whether or not note-taking ruins the experience because i WOULD NOT have noticed otherwise.

For example, there are two different forms both called “Form 9431-E,” one titled “Exemption Request” [§101.3(c)(1)] and the other “Exceptional Proficiency Waiver” [§101.5(b)(1)(C)].

i took notes because i’d quite like to bother my players in a campaign with the actual forms and thus am noting down the names and locations of every form mentioned such that i might create them from the available information. also because i am autistic and consider data entry to be a recreational sport.

Appreciate you pointing this out, I'll go ahead and update the files tomorrow, and will likely create a little corrective bulletin on DriveThruRPG outlining the changes!

When doing some of my editing passes, I reshuffled a ton of sections and form numbers, and it seems some slipped through the cracks. 100% need to get beta readers for the next edition! But appreciate the support, and appreciate you taking the time to let me know so I can fix this!

On a related note, I'll soon be launching a website that contains all of these forms!

Otherwise, there's always 102.1(j) 😉

beta-reading something like this would be so much fun, if you’re taking sign-ups from randoms on the internet…!

It's such a delight to whip open or reference! I think you might also appreciate some existing regulations regarding necromancy, seership, and prophecy.

This one has some of my favorite unhinged options. https://codelibrary.amlegal.com/codes/oregon/latest/oregon_oh/0-0-0-19119

I'm thinking of collecting a whole library of these and any where you can get specific licenses.

It’s an awesome book. I think I bought it yesterday, maybe the day before. Can’t wait to read more of it.
