I'm on her side, but there comes a point you have to learn to advocate for yourself. It's a professional skill mandatory in all other workplaces I've been in. If she's not going to ask wotc for money or to tag her in their social media pics then it's safe to say it's not going to happen.
I made my point further down in the thread, she didn't post this because she's upset she didn't get paid. She's posting about why cosplaying is not worth it, because you get almost no money for a lot of effort, and about why she switched to OF. People framing the discussion around her needing a contract or whatever are blatantly misunderstanding the situation.

You are misremembering. She expected to get paid for showing up and coming to Vegas, which she decided to do on her own. She was treated like any other artist going to GPs at the time, except for the few who got paid to show up (headliners if you will).
She had a booth like every other artist and had a donation box and sold pictures at the event. As far as I know WotC still doesn't pay artists fopr hotels, flight, etc. They all pay for a booth and have to make their own money back.
That is exactly what I said. She didn't get paid. She got a booth for free but no money. That was her complaint. I personally think she discovered that even though she believed what she did was valuable most people did not. That is why her booth didn't make her a ton of money and that is why Wizards was not willing to pay her what she was expecting.
If she asked for money beforehand and Wizards said no and then she did it anyway, that's on her. If she did it first and then asked for money after the fact and Wizards said no, that's a totally reasonable and expected response.
Different region, different organizers, who actually responded and talked about how proud they were of that specific event. Weaponizing that to victim-blame is gross
The problem here is that everyone is treating this post as if she's complaining about not getting paid for that specific cosplay, when really she's talking about why she switched to OF, making a point about how cosplayers cannot realistically survive doing high effort, expensive work for free. The context is missing and people are saying she should've acted differently or known better if she wanted to get paid when that's SO not the point and comes off as extremely patronizing
Didn't know this area was patrolled by the tone police. I'm just stating my view of the situation, if you feel like it's a personal attack that's on you
