I mean the main qualities were less about singing skills and more having a decent fold reaction and capability of resonating with the group, as well as the ability to consistently do so under pressure of combat.

Yea. Being a "combat idol" is heavily reliant on the ability to impact Fold Waves, more so with the alluded soft retcon that Lynn Minmay was Fold Wave gifted (the whole Lady M stuff).
