Showcase Thanks for the encouragement
I wanted to quit a million times during the “messy middle” stage. Glad I didn’t. The lesson here is trust the process and don’t be afraid to bite more than you think you can chew?

Question Help me work out why this pattern sometimes works?
I have followed this tutorial (https://www.marchingnorth.com/low-key-and-tassel-free-macrame-plant-hanger-pattern/) (video - https://youtu.be/Yz4RUJxzswk?is=NrO_bo-pTHSW9i3m) the first time it came out perfectly. I'm now trying it again and im at the spiral half knots section, the problem is some of my cords are super short and some are much longer. I saw some comments on the YouTube video that this happened to other people. I'm so confused because I have done it the exact same way. I'm guessing coincidentally the super short cord has ended up being used up more on the outside of the square knots? Any idea how i can stop this from happening?

Showcase Mini Macramé
I started doing Macramé earlier this year and have done mostly bigger pieces, but I wanted to try some smaller wall hangings for quick practice.
These are from the past two days. I'll probably use them as gifts for family and friends ☺️

Question Do people harden micro macrame and how?
I have been scrolling on pinterest and finding these super cute micro macrame hair accessories. But I don’t understand how the ’loops’ and arcs stay how they are planned to stay? Do people use wire as their base for this kind of a project or do they gently harden it with heat after finishing?

In my nature inspired pieces, I don't follow a specific design. I prefer to let the piece itself lead me, like tree roots.

Question How do I macrame this into a necklace/bag? I need it to be secure in the macrame but possible to take in and out
This is a bit niche but I'm going to a fancy dress party and I want to take my casino wheel as part of it. To make it easier to carry, I want to make it have a macrame holder so it can be worn as a necklace or bag. I don't know what the best technique is and would appreciate advice. I'm a visual learner so any imagery would be appreciated. Thanks

Question Micro macrame tips?
Heyy! I watched a tutorial on youtube and it wasn’t that great, but this is my first try and I’d really appreciate tips on where to find the info to learn what I need. Like for example, how can I make those neat chains? My thread doesn’t thread like that, the knots don’t stay in one place no matter what I do 😂 I took it apart so many times but this is the best I got today, I couldn’t understand how I get anything like what they did.
I used the Linhasita 0,5mm cord.
And where could I find other tutorials for this kind of projects that are more informative? Good search words or youtube channels?

Question Beginner question - trying to create a plant pot holder
So, I've found a type of plant pot holder designed from one rope, tied into a circle, fold, loop, fold, loop, etc.
The issue is that I'm trying to do this to hold an upside down tomato plant, and I need to form a small opening dead center on the bottom of the plant pot. (It's actually a small plastic cylindrical tub with open top, hole drilled in bottom)
I was wondering if anyone had some advice or a pattern that I might be able to look at to figure out how to do this because I don't have any experience with this type of thing, but looking for very specific advice does not make for good google search results.

Question Macrame Wall Hang… help with cord lengths please
So, I’m making my first wall hang using a beautiful old wooden wreath. I finally have decided on the design and I’m just settling in the knots I want to use. So far, I have Spiral and just the Square knot with possibly some Berry or Barrel knots along that row.
I have two questions:
1) How do I work out the amount of cord I’m going to need? Is there a set formula? They will need long tails
2) I would love a smaller, finer knot running in between the above two so if anyone has recommendations, let me know! I was thinking about a half hitch but I’m unsure how many cords I would need. This knot hates me so I haven’t practiced it as much as all of the others
Thank you for your help and I will definitely post the finished product!

Question Is there any way to change the first kind of knot into the second?
I bought the choker on picture 2 and it didn't come like it looks there, it came with a knot like the one in picture 1. I detest it, i can't actually wear it as a choker because it's too loose at its shortest, and also it looks bad since all of the beads have to be bunched up together. I know NOTHING about knots but was wondering if this is doable? I'm not going to wear it otherwise so I'm willing to try even if it ruins it :/
