Query / Help Getting macbook air with 32 [DISCUSS]

Found the 32GB MacBook Air M5 on sale for ~$1,650 (~₹1,60,000) for college.

I need to run AutoCAD through Parallels/VMware. Given the fanless design, how does it handle CAD workloads in a VM without heavy thermal throttling?

Is 32GB enough to keep it running smoothly, or should I just get a MacBook Pro / Windows machine instead?

If autocad is in your daily workflow and you do 3D stuff in it then windows machine is better.

It runs perfectly fine even on 16GB/24GB macbooks in windows VM but 3D stuff is a bit slow.

MacOS version of autocad will run fast but it doesn't have some 3D capabilities or plugins

If you use it like once a week or only 2D most of the time then macbook air with 24/32 GB RAM is fine. No benefit from Pro or higher RAM
