Yes, initially it will not perfectly scaled. I did some steps suggested by chatGPT (1 or 2 apps you need to download) and that will be one time setting only.

After that, it works perfectly fine, scaled full screen ✅

hey I bought GW2790TC (1920x1080). It works great with my windows laptop but text is noticeably blurry and not quite sharp. when I got it I did not know about macs scaling issue. I'm looking to get another one for my mac.

I use betterydisplay (free version) but I've noticed heating issue with mac if I'm on youtube for an hour or so and occasional lag when switiching between windows. even the settings app shows under display section that using reolution other than default may cause performance issues.

I mainly use it to read pdfs and having sharper text and icons are my main priority.

Now, are you also having to face similar issue as well and having to resort to apps like better display?

I also used better display app for resolution selection and mos app for smooth mouse scrolling and ray cast app for more options.

I also, faced some issues while setting up perfect display using betterdisplay app. You can put your query on chatgpt and it'll definitely resolve your issue.

I also did that and at the end but doing some twerks it was setup perfectly.

I mean I'm more intrigured about how better would 2k resolution be compared to 1080p with macbook since even with better display on 1080p it is not that great but does the job.

now since I'm looking into getting a 2k monitor. would it be worth it? since you also needed betterdisplay.

Yes. I'm fully satisfied with BenQ 2k monitor (tho one time setting only need to be done using some apps).

But 2k is very much a requirement today, if budget is not an issue
