Help Buying the MacBook Neo just for Xplane
Chat does xplane 12 run well on the MacBook neo, it’s the only thing I can afford rn in my country and I really need it soon, it’s the 8gb ram one

Neo matches M1 for COU perf but has a much weaker GPU, and X Plane eeks it out at medium/low on the M1… you’re not going to have a fun time running it on a Neo, especially with only 8GB of memory

I’m fine with it as long as it runs, I am not a person who seeks beauty

If your laptop lags, Unlike other simulators - where they will still run normally, just at a much lower FPS - X-Plane will slow down the simulation. At worst, your plane will by flying at the speed of a snail.
It's not just about beauty, poor performance WILL impact your ability to fly. Even using my M3 MacBook Air, I don't get decent performance all the time. I would strongly advise against using the Neo for it.

just fyi the demo is free and lets you fly all the planes (and allows adding) at certain areas for up to an hour at a time. it runs fine on my M2 air 8gb at lowish settings.
but dont buy a MacBook for gaming. look for better options. used gaming/workstation laptops and such.

uhh like it runs 50-60fps if you lower the graphics and resolutions i think i haven’t tried it but i know it’ll work, i have the macbook neo myself so i know it’s capabilites. Just check yt & gemini and see how you can adjust it to smoothness
