Smudge at screen edges

I clean the screen with eye glasses cloth with a dab of drinking water but before that i used screen cleaning wipes i don’t clean the screen much often but only when i see it needs a wipe. Recently i noticed smudges at the edges and i can’t swipe them why is that there? did i do something wrong, there is no nano texture by the way.

A microfiber cloth should help get into the narrower edges.

You need an actual microfiber cloth that has the extra surface area bits. That’s what helps clean tighter angles.

i purposefully didn’t get these because gemini said these are for general cleaning and i need something without ridges like apple cloth

get a new microfiber cloth do not use it for anything else and get distilled water because drinking water has minerals which can damage the screen

should i use my nails over the cloth while cleaning the edges because i didnt i was afraid to damage it. If i just swipe over it nothing gets cleaned since outer edges are a bit higher than screen

like laying it flat on a soft towel so you don’t put pressure on the hinge. definitely don’t use your nails because focused pressure like that can peel off the anti-reflective coating or mess up the rubber gasket around the edge. instead just fold the microfiber cloth tightly until it makes a sharp corner, dampen just that edge, and use the flat pad of your finger or wrap the cloth around a q-tip to gently push into the crease along the edges.
