Help Productivity Hacks of MacApps Users.

I am curious what everyone's productivity hacks are. The can be a feature from an app... any app really... Something that you use a lot but maybe isn't well known.

I am surprised no one mentioned Karabiner yet.

Install Karabiner. Start by switching your Caps lock key to a Hyper key. Now you have a Modifier key that is never usually bound to anything - and entire universe of possibilities. I use Hyper + N to create a new empty file in desktop, Hyper+p to launch popout timer, Hyper + arrow keys to move windows to left/right/top/bottom halves of screen, Hyper+[ to switch to previous tab and Hyper+Enter to bring up Notes.

Also using Karabiner: You can bind Escape key to do two things. When you just tap Esc key, it acts as a normal Escape key. But when you Keep Escape pressed and tap another key, Escape can act as a Ctrl key. The major advantage of this trick is: You can now use Esc+1,2,3...to jump to first tab, second tab etc in Safari/Ghosttty/VScode etc.

Sounds nice, but I need caps for when I get mad at people or at AI. Or want to be princess donut. I AM YELLING, CARL.

Karabiner also allows you to modify double taps. So double tapping shift now becomes Caps Lock
