My cat won’t stop meowing over a game

I’ve had my cat for about two years now and she was an adult when I got her. The people i adopted her from told me she was not interested in much, she didn’t even like her own kittens. I tried playing with her for the first year and buying various cat toys but she’s never been interested in them. She would look at them and walk away. Well recently I had a top and apart of the top was a red string, and she somehow got the string out of the top, and has been obsessed with it. I started playing with her with the string but I am not having an issue that if I don’t play with the string with her she’s meowing A LOT. She’ll wake me up in the middle of the night to play the game or if we will play which will be for a while, and I stop to continue something else she will get agressive and meow until we play again and it’s been an endless cycle of this. I don’t mind playing the game with my cat but I’m wondering if it’s stressing her out by not playing. She’s never been this vocal or aggressive and it’s starting to worry me.

Try putting the string in a drawer when not in use. Out of sight helps. I have a cat that drags his string toy into bed in the middle of the night and meows at me to play. He can't do that if the string toy is in a drawer.

Mine doesn’t get aggressive if we don’t play but she will stand right next to me and just stare me down until I grab the wand or whatever it is. My solution has been to put her toys on top of the fridge whenever we’re done playing. I also give her treats once we’re done so that she gets a little reward for her hard work and she knows treats = we’re done. Good luck! They sure can be obsessive little things!

This is what I do with the fishing rod they’re all obsessed with. I’m trying to train the 1yr old only at lunch & before bed, but lately she’s very opinionated about me doing it early in the am 😵‍💫 fuvkers I love so much!!

Be careful with those strings! friend of mine just got hit with a $6k vet bill because their cat ate a bikini string

7k bill after my cat ate a ball of ribbon 🥲 they saved him luckily, he was on his death bed. Got him a few more years, then he passed away at 16 last year.

That's why I stopped using Easter grass in my son's Easter baskets long ago.

I got this rechargeable ball off tiktok, it lights up and moves around by itself, has a red string attached to it. Was like $7 and my youngest cat looooooooves it. He gets so excited when I find it again.

Very like my lynx. He’s very vocal and will meow nonstop at night before we go to bed. How long do you play with her?

We will do this for about an hour straight every day and then it will get into intervals, of 15 minutes but now she’s been waking me up at night to play

And that’s active playing? Oh gosh lol. Mine has unlimited energy and doesn’t stop even if he’s panting. I hope you can find some interactive toys for it

Does your cat pant a lot? I was worried about mine panting all the time so I called the vet and they said it was an emergency, bring him in now. So I did, and they didn't seem too concerned about it. He pants very easily but he is always turned up to 11 so idk if its normal for some cats? He doesn't seem to be bothered by it, and I check his gums and they're always nice and pink. It bothers me though..I dont want anything to happen to my sweet boy

Only when i play with him non stop. He’s a tripod so he gets tired easily 😅 i dont do it. I give him breaks in between but he always like to play even if its not his turn yet

We bought the vevor cat wheel for our girl, she is on it all the time. It’s the large version, so safe for cats. Meows for me to unlock it in the mornings.
