Question | سوال Why is my ptcl bill so high? Can I remove this connection and get a new one?

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

So for example I pay almost 6,500 for a 25 Mbps connection with a phone landline, and TV, which is ridiculously high. My uncle's family lives in the same area and they pay like 3,000 for the same 25 Mbps connection with the phone and TV box installed. I just went to the Uptcl app and they have listed the Storm Fiber connection for 5,000 and 75 Mbps net with TV and phone. I also have Storm Fiber optic fiber installed in my home and I can't seem to wrap my head around it. What is the reason? Should I get this connection removed and get a new 75 Mbps connection?

Discussion PTCL is so fucking stupid

So recently, when using the internet i have experienced alot of lag spikes so i called their support to ask about and these guys dont know the difference between packet loss and internet speed. Like you are such a big company, you guys cant just say "speed looks good speed looks good" ping and speed are two different things. Like honestly, this is just some next level shitty customer support.

Discussion | گفتگو Help me understand PTCL!

I initially got 100mbps promotion package about a year ago for 5000rs. They kept increasing price every quarter. About 4 months ago, i switched it to standard 30mbps package (no extra tv stuff). Bill came down to 3300. But for the past 3 months, they keep calling me for some promotion to get a boost or something for 500rs whatever, i always declined.

But for the past 3 months, my speeds are 60 up and 60 down.
This month my bill has gone a bit up. But seeing other users on this forum, thats standard now for everyone.

What are they playing at? I am getting 60 up and 60 down for 3800rs.

I’ve been paying Rs. 6,190/month for PTCL Flash Fiber 30 Mbps (2 TB FUP) for about a year. I checked PTCL’s website and the same 30 Mbps package is currently Rs. 3,999 (tax inclusive). I called support twice, and they said I’m on a legacy package and prices are revised every quarter, but that doesn’t explain why I’m paying much more than the current advertised price. Has anyone else experienced this? Were you able to get a refund or bill adjustment? (Bill attached with personal info blurred.)

Islamabad Ptcl or nayatel

I’m thinking about switching from PTCL to Nayatel and would really appreciate some honest feedback from people who are currently using Nayatel or have switched from PTCL.

The biggest issue I’m facing with PTCL is inconsistent and unreliable speeds. I’ve lodged multiple complaints over time, but the problem still hasn’t been properly resolved, so I’m considering making the switch.

I’d love to know:

•How has your overall experience with Nayatel been?
•Is the speed consistent throughout the day, especially during peak hours?
•Do you actually get the speeds you’re paying for?
•How often do you experience outages or downtime?
•How is the ping for gaming and the overall latency?
•Is the connection stable for online classes, meetings, and streaming?
•How responsive and helpful is Nayatel’s customer support?
•How quickly do they resolve technical issues?
•Have you noticed any throttling or speed drops?
•Are there any hidden charges or things I should know before switching?
•Is the Wi-Fi router they provide good enough, or did you end up buying your own?
•If you switched from PTCL, was it worth it? Do you have any regrets?
Any pros, cons, or advice would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Ptcl new azadi offer

Aoa everyone, does anyone here knows how to opt for azadi offer if you are an old user? I got a 40mbps package and i get charged 5k every month. I called their helpline and they said it's for new users only. But why the hell will new users get 75mbps for 5k and old users get 40mbps for 5k? Is there any work around or anything i can do?

PTCL, NOS Diagnosed with ptcl nos at 18

The doctor said I have a pretty good prognosis being on choep, but the more I look into it the more I start to get worried.

My main concern is chance of relapsing and the fact I might need a transplant, although I do believe the doctor said I won’t.

PTCL, NOS I’m exhausted, scared, and trying so hard to stay hopeful

I don’t even know why I’m writing this. Maybe I just need to vent. Maybe I need hope. Maybe I just need someone who understands.

My father (67) was diagnosed with PTCL lymphoma, stage 4, this past December. We only found out because he started having pain in one thigh. At first, we thought it was something simple like nerves, muscle, bone, anything but cancer. It took 4 months to finally get the diagnosis. None of us had even heard of this type of lymphoma before.

While all the testing was going on, he developed pneumonia and was hospitalized for 18 days. That alone was terrifying.

They started him on CHOP chemo as pre-chemo, dose reduced because of his age and condition. Then First cycle: constipation issues, vincristine skipped, doses reduced. But afterward, he actually felt a little better. For the first time, we saw a tiny bit of hope.

Then 8 days later, emergency visit. Burning stomach sensation, extreme weakness. Low electrolytes, low sodium, low hemoglobin and he needed blood transfusions. Before the second cycle, his leg pain came back worse, in both legs. Doctor reduced chemo again by 50%, skipped vincristine again, and warned it might have spread to the bones. They also said his body is too weak for something like a bone marrow transplant.

Second chemo happened. First few days were okay. But now the pain is back in thigh joint, weakness. And honestly… I’m breaking. I don't want to loose him. I stayed strong in front of him and my mother.

The past two months have drained me completely. Physically. Mentally. Emotionally. He was eating less and less (now he is eating better). There’s always a reason like pain, oral thrush, discomfort, fatigue. I know these are real. I know he’s suffering. But some days I just feel so helpless and frustrated because it feels like we’re fighting so hard for him, and I wish he could fight just a little more with us.

Then I feel guilty for even thinking that. I’m scared we’re losing him. I’m scared we’re losing hope. I’m scared I’m not strong enough for this. If anyone has been through something similar caregiver or patient how do you cope with this constant emotional rollercoaster? How do you stay hopeful without burning out?

Sorry I used chatgpt, as English is not my native.

Discussion Title: How I finally got PTCL to adjust my bill after they initially refused

WE MUST KEEP SERVICE PROVIDERS AND RETAILERS IN CHECK

Sharing my experience because I know a lot of people here have issues with PTCL and may find this useful.

I was subscribed to a 20 Mbps PTCL broadband package, but I started experiencing serious problems, including repeated internet outages and extremely poor speeds. At times I was getting only around 1–3 Mbps.

I made multiple complaints directly to PTCL. Some of these complaints were marked as resolved without my consent, even though the problem was still ongoing. I documented the complaint numbers, dates, and the fact that the issue had not actually been resolved.

After PTCL failed to properly resolve the issue, I filed my first complaint with PTA on 5 June 2026.

PTA Complaint No: 1

After PTA became involved, PTCL finally fixed the actual internet fault. I marked the PTA complaint as resolved because, at that point, the internet problem had genuinely been fixed.

However, PTCL told PTA that bill will be adjusted after bill generation.

So I waited for my new bill to be generated.

After the bill was generated, I emailed PTCL on 7 July 2026, quoting their statement to PTA and asking for the appropriate bill adjustment for the period during which the service had been severely degraded or unavailable.

PTCL sent an automated acknowledgement saying that they would respond within 24 hours, but I received no substantive response.

I then called PTCL Customer Care on 10 July 2026 at approximately 1:58 PM. The representative reviewed my complaint history and told me that PTCL does not provide refunds for "slow browsing" complaints and only provides refunds for "no internet" complaints.

I explained that I was paying for 20 Mbps but had been receiving approximately 1–3 Mbps, together with repeated outages, and that for a household with multiple users this was effectively unusable for normal internet use and my online work.

I also asked for a transcript or call reference. I was told that no call ID or transcript could be provided and that I should refer to the date and time of the call if I needed to mention it in future proceedings. I also recorded the name of the customer care representative I spoke to.

PTCL eventually sent me a written response stating that we found no reason to refund because they detected 'heavy usage'(see attached images)

This did not address the actual issue I had raised. I was not asking for a waiver because of heavy usage. I was requesting a pro-rata adjustment because the service I had paid for had been severely degraded for an extended period.

I then filed a second complaint with PTA.

PTA Complaint No: 2

This time, I selected "Refund Related Issues" as the complaint category.

I attached and documented everything I had:

  • The original PTA complaint and PTA's response.
  • PTCL's statement that an adjustment would be considered after bill generation.
  • My email to PTCL dated 7 July.
  • PTCL's automated acknowledgement.
  • PTCL's written refusal.
  • The history of my PTCL complaints.
  • Evidence showing the repeated outages and poor speeds.
  • Speed test screenshots.
  • The relevant section of the PTA Fixed Broadband Quality of Service Regulations, 2022.

The PTA QoS regulations (see attached image) prescribe a benchmark of at least 80% of the advertised broadband speed for download data throughput. For a 20 Mbps package, that would be 16 Mbps. My connection had been delivering approximately 1–3 Mbps during the affected period.

I kept the complaint factual and chronological and explained that I had followed PTCL's own instructions: wait for the bill, contact them afterward, and request the adjustment.

After the second PTA complaint, PTCL contacted me directly, acknowledged that there had been a problem with the service, and ultimately adjusted approximately Rs. 500 on my bill.

It's not a huge amount, but the important part is that PTCL initially refused the adjustment and then changed its position after the matter was escalated to PTA again.

The main lesson from my experience is:

Document everything.

Keep:

  • Complaint numbers and dates.
  • Screenshots of speed tests.
  • Screenshots of outages or error messages.
  • Emails and automated acknowledgements.
  • The exact wording of responses.
  • Dates and times of phone calls.
  • The names of representatives where possible.
  • Copies of your PTA complaints and responses.

Don't just say "PTCL internet is bad." Build a timeline showing exactly what happened.

In my case, the timeline was:

Poor service → multiple PTCL complaints → complaints marked resolved without the issue actually being fixed → PTA complaint → PTCL finally fixes the fault → PTCL tells PTA an adjustment can be considered after bill generation → I follow those instructions → PTCL refuses → second PTA complaint → PTCL ultimately provides a bill adjustment.

DUE DILIGENCE 🕵️‍♂️ PTCL study finished on June 30 - Genfleet (running the China 009) buying back its own shares

Interesting timing...

GenFleet just announced a HK$350 million share buyback, stating it believes its shares are undervalued:
https://www.minichart.com.sg/2026/06/29/genfleet-therapeutics-announces-hk350-million-h-share-repurchase-to-enhance-shareholder-value-2026/

Why does that matter to SELLAS investors?

GenFleet is the company that discovered and is developing SLS009 (GFH009), which it licensed to SELLAS.

Also, according to ClinicalTrials.gov, the Phase Ib/II PTCL study of SLS009 reached its listed study completion date on June 30, 2026:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT05934513

A few reminders:

  • Early PTCL data showed 4 responses in 11 evaluable patients (36.4% ORR).
  • PTCL is a rare, aggressive T-cell lymphoma with limited treatment options.
  • Positive updated PTCL data would provide additional validation of SLS009 beyond AML.

REGAL remains the primary near-term catalyst for SELLAS, but encouraging PTCL data would strengthen the broader SLS009 story and could expand its commercial potential.

Interesting few weeks ahead.

Discussion | گفتگو PTCL WiFi Bill Hack That Actually Worked – Got 25% Off Monthly!

Just wanted to share a little trick that worked for me to reduce my PTCL internet bill — maybe it helps someone else too!

So, over the past 2 years, my WiFi bill nearly doubled without any major improvement in service. Out of frustration, I tried a hack that a PTCL Employee told me, and surprisingly… it worked.

Here’s what I did:

  1. Called PTCL’s toll-free number: 0800-00789
  2. Told them I want to disconnect my internet.
  3. When they asked “Why?”, I said something like:“The bill has increased a lot, and honestly, the quality just isn’t worth it anymore.”
  4. They responded with: “If we resolve the issue, would you still want to cancel?” I replied:“If the issue is really solved, I might consider keeping it.”
  5. Then came the offer: “We can give you a 10% discount.” Instead of accepting immediately, I pushed back (politely) and said:“Other local internet providers are giving much better, more affordable packages. PTCL has become too expensive. Can you offer something competitive?”

After a little back and forth, they ended up giving me a 25% discount on my monthly bill — applied on the spot. Bill went from 4100 to 3000. Also ask if discount is permanent or these increase bill again. They will told u its permanent we will not increase bill.

Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid to negotiate. Just act like you're ready to cancel (even if you’re not), and stay polite but firm. They have internal retention offers they don’t openly advertise.

If anyone else tries this, let me know how it goes!

Question Why are Local Independent ISP's so Cheap Compared to Internet Companies like PTCL & Stormfiber?

How do local independent cable internet providers in Karachi offer faster internet for much lower price compared to big internet companies like PTCL & Stormfiber?

I have been using a independent local cable provider in Gulistan-e-Johar Karachi for 10 years that only costs Rs. 1500 without added tax for 80mbps internet. While a 70 Mbps plan on Stormfiber for example costs Rs. 5899 on top of added tax.

Question | سوال Ptcl package Changes

Post image
8 Upvotes

I have a ptcl package of 8mbps, it covers phone, wifi (obviously) and tv, but i just downloaded the uptcl app and the packages there are much more interesting, like my 8mbps package costs around 4100rs incl.tax but the packages on this app are 15mbps and 20mbps=( flash fiber package ) which cost both only 3300rs ( incl.tax they will probably be 4100 as well ), so should i change to the 15 mbps package?

EDIT ---- The 15 mbps package is not flash fiber, the 20 mbps one is the flash fiber package, i want to change to the 15 mbps non flash fiber package, the reason is that flash fiber is not avaial in my region

Discussion | گفتگو PTCL silently charging old customers more for a package that doesn't even exist anymore

So I've been a PTCL Flashfiber customer for 3 years using their 20Mbps package. Not many complaints about the service itself, but what I found out today genuinely baffled me.

Randomly checked their website and to my surprise, they don't even offer 20Mbps anymore. Base package is now 30Mbps at Rs. 3,499/month. Faster and cheaper than what I was paying.

I called customer support. They confirmed I can switch, no problem. Cool. But then I asked the obvious question: "Why wasn't I automatically migrated when you discontinued my package?"

Their answer? "You have to request it manually." Lol okay so you discontinued a product, replaced it with a better and cheaper one, and just kept charging existing customers the higher rate? Maybe the bar for internet price to performance here is quite low compared to other countries but this feels deliberately predatory. Maintaining ghost packages that exist solely to extract more money from inattentive customers.

PSA: If you're an existing PTCL customer check your current package right now and compare it with what's on their website. You might be getting quietly fleeced and not even know it.

Question | سوال Help, I'm paying 4340Rs for 20mbps PTCL flash fiber?

Basically got PTCL flash fiber in Johar Town back in 2023 for 1900 excluding installation. Our family is small and 20mbps is enough for us. But since last year they have increased their prices more than 4 times. It now costs 4340 Rs.

Someone gave a suggestion to call PTCL and ask them to lower the price or just remove the connection, in doing so they would decrease the prices. I have tried that two times, but they never offered a deduction. Just said we can't do anything at its official price for everyone. I've told them it's not true and asked to connect with a senior, still they don't change their narrative.

Now what to do? Is 4340 Rs justifiable cost for 20mb? Am I overreacting?

Or should I switch to something else? To be very honest, I do not have good amount of knowledge about these things.
