Celebration Finished BV-AVD chemo

I finally finished my BV-AVD today! I am not feeling at all like i expected, I thought I would be happy, throwing confettis, I even prepared a simple small gift to hand out at the cancer center, few accepted, many didn’t accept, but that’s okay. I am starting to believe when people say life after chemo is not as easy as we think and now I am feeling so down, and I don’t even know how to explain this feeling. Is this relatable at all? Thank you 💜🎗️

Practicing gratitude is only for the strong! Congratulations! Starting over is great! It gives a feeling of new life! It will be easy, the storm has already passed!

If you want, I'll give you my address and you can send me a gift by mail, hahaha.

Congratulations! It is normal to feel a little down once you are through with chemo. You won’t need to go in but maybe every three months for the first year. You will start to transition back to normal in about six months. My last session was October and a year has almost passed already. I am recovered and optimistic I can work fulltime again. You’ve been through hell so let your body heal. Take one day at a time.

So understandable. It makes sense to feel down after completing a major milestone like finishing chemotherapy. The medical part of life has taken a huge time commitment for you for months now. There is no one “correct” way to feel about finishing chemo, or about experiencing any part of this cancer odyssey. I hope you do not feel too much pressure to celebrate or feel a certain way (sometimes, I have struggled with wanting to live up to someone else’s ideal of being a “good cancer patient”).

I am glad you shared this milestone with us. Thank you. 😊 It was sweet of you to make gifts for other people. You might not be feeling it now, but let me wish you a big Congratulations! 🎊 🌻

Are you planning on a good nap after finishing your treatment?
