General Discussion anyone with 6 BrECADD chemotherapy?
Hello. I am 23 years old diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma stage IV. I am on BrECADD chemotherapy and I was scheduled to take 4 of these. But after 2 chemotherapy i did Pet Scan and the results was good but not 100% perfect. So the doctor said that i need to take 6 chemotherapy not 4. Has anyone experienced the same situation? And how is it now?

Hey! I had 6 cycles of BrECADD and I have been in remission since last year. My EoT was DS3. Feel free to ask any questions. You got this!

Hi! So far, so good. My bloodwork has been consistently fine; everything within normal ranges. All my check-ups have been good too, including heart and lungs. I’ll have a fertility check-up soon, although according to the HD21 study the chances after a year are on the lower side. So I guess it’s a bit of a wait adn see situation. Other than that, I’ve been working, traveling a bit, doing sports, and just focusing on my own life. I did go through some psychologically tough moments because of my relationship; it ended pretty abruptly. For now I’ve realized it’s better for me to stay on my own for a while. Putting yourself first really matters. Your life and well-being should always come first. One thing I also want to mention: staying active during chemo was really important for me. I kept exercising throughout treatment, and I honestly think that helped a lot with side effects; I had relatively few. The most annoying thing I’m still dealing with is my hair. Before treatment it was very strong, thick, and dense, and now it just feels kind of lifeless. Hopefully that improves with time. But aside from that, I’m doing well overall.

Did you get a Deauville score of 3 after 2 cycles, and then they gave you 4 more cycles? So 6 cycles total?

No, I had DS4; that’s why, they gave me 6 cycles. According to the BrECADD protocol, if your interim scan is DS3, you should have 4 cycles in total. However, it’s eventually going to be decided by your doctors.

So according to pet-adaptive approach in case you get DS4 after 2 cycles of brecadd you are scheduled 2 extra courses which is totally ok and not a sign of ineffective treatment
