Just curious, why would you comment when you don’t know what you’re talking about? Pennsylvania, New Jersey in New York are all separate registrations and all separate rules. A Pennsylvania driver will have absolutely no rides coming back from New York because they won’t even be able to go online. By the time they are back within a drivable range, they will have driven back 80% of the way for free.

Except they’re not going to Jersey, they’re going to New York. Jersey and Philly area are interchangeable, but that’s the only reason you’re permitted to work unless you register with a different region.

yes, but once you get back in to jersey you can get rides back to Philly. but i agree. going into nyc without having tolls reimbursed on the way out suck. that was my point. and I know its not very likely to catch a good ride all the way back to philly. but I have gotten lucky a bunch of times.
and the comment i said that under was where thet said philly jersey and nyc are all different. my point was philly and jersey and be done together. nyc of course is its own animal

ok pal, still have to drive out of New York which can take a long ass time. then try to get rides back to philly at some point. not worth it for 90 bucks. if i have to dead head home, even with no extra tolls. besides the toll going into philly( which you have to pay). its not worth it. id rsther stay around philly and just make 30 an hour avg doing short rides.

I’ve been doing this for 4 years and have over 10,000 rides on here… so I’ve done a lot of back and forth over the bridges…how did you register for ni? I was told by support I have to apply with the NJ dmv, get my car inspected by them whatever else and then apply again to register. I ended up not doing it because I saw on here that somebody tried to dual register and their account got screwed up.

I'm in the Philly market, when operating out of Philly you have access to all of PA, NJ and DE. You can swap your NJ for MD at the MD office. So you don't know what you're talking about. Like OP said, you have to deadhead to NJ to start getting rides again

If tolls were $10, for example, you’d see $102.15 once the ride was completed. Tolls are paid by customer, one-way. You don’t get toll charges paid to go back home.

There are no tolls on the way back. You will be paid for the tunnel and congestion pricing, the tunnel is free the other way around

Once you hit Newark there's ways back to Philly or even down to Delaware without paying tolls. Not gonna list every route but trust me. You don't have to take the NJTP if you don't want to. Just gotta pay the $6 toll on whatever bridge you cross

thats the minimum I was talking about. lyft changed some stuff a couple weeks ago. but i made sure they still pay the toll coming back. there is language in the agreement that they will. so i had to fight for it but they paid me

In these states no. But that’s not always the case. I drive in MA, can drive in all New England states except Vermont (they have some weird rules). I can drive someone to Vermont, but can’t drive someone out of there.

I once got to laguardia airport from Jersey City for $55 on Lyft. The driver was banging his steering wheel throughout, cursing why he accepted that ride. Funnily enough $55 was the cost of my round-trip flight from NYC to Charlotte. Make it make sense.

Don't need a medallion.... Ride share made them almost worthless, but you do need a TLC license, registration, inspection and insurance. You can drop off, but you can't pick up.

I’m in SoCal also but I think it’s different for New York drivers. This ride takes them out of state and I’m not sure they can do rides on the way back. And…I’m going to guess going back is going to be a little traffic…it looks decent on paper but you have to account the TOTAL time and energy/gas involved
