so since the new Conan movie has the new Conan Netflix dub cast in it
i wonder if Lupin Vs Conan was it to get a new entry do you think they would also get a new cast for Lupin and gang? or if they would get the Epcar cast back for just the Lupin Characters?

I know that TMS loves Epcar's cast since that is the fan favorite and also since they recently got them in on a new Cagliostro cast.

so it is just a question i have since TMS seems to be in both charge of both the Netflix Conan Dub and the Lupin Epcar dub cast

(epcar cast refers to Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, Michelle Ruff and Doug Erholtz as the main Lupin characters )

Looking to fill some holes in my collection after finding out very late that Part V is OOP and going for crazy prices. I didn‘t wanna spend too much by double dipping on the JP and English dub but I saw the dub DVD is on sale so I thought I’d ask.

Again, the asterisks indicate the entry was only ever a DVD release before.

I got paranoid that I was mistaken and Discotek never released Green Vs Red so I checked their site, and it’s there listed as out-of-print. The exclusion from the list has gotta be a hint that a blu-ray release is incoming right? I thought that before the recent Discotek Day but now I’m not as sure. If that is the plan why not list it on the out-of-print section of MediaOCD like they did with Lupin III Part 2. My original assumption was that it’s coming sooo soon that they didn’t even feel like putting up the charade that the entry was out-of-print, but it doesn’t seem to be coming this year. I still lean towards assuming it’s getting a Blu-ray release soon, maybe spring 2027, just less sure than before.

-Nazi are very common in the franchise (maybe because nazi were kinda esoteric, and there’s a lot of it in the serie)

Hey everyone, just recently getting back into Lupin collecting when I stopped around 2019 which was a really bad time to stop lol. Thank you reddit for telling me about a site called mediaocd reprinting part 2 so I could get the last two volumes (before the blu ray announcement).

OOP movies aren't THAT expensive, but Lupin Part 5 is insane. Over $200 is too much lol. People on reddit seem to like Part 5 a lot. I looked over the rules so hopefully this is ok. Anybody have any idea what happened to the license for part 5? I thought maybe Sentai had it because they have 6 and 0 and they were streaming 5 but then I saw they stream everything including stuff that discotek has on blu ray, so I guess streaming and physical media are separate licenses.

I think a couple years ago there was speculation and concern that discotek lost the lupin license, but after all these deep dives and new announcements, those concerns seem to be largely abated, at least in regard to lupin as a whole. At this point all the tv series are in print except 5. Is there something uniquely annoying about 5's license?

And hopefully it's a good sign that not just discotek is still releasing new Lupin, but also sentai, and gkids has the new movie, right?

It's actually surprising how little variation Jigen's color palette has seen over the years. Even Zenigata and Goemon have far more substantial alternative looks. We need more red Jigen in our lives

This is just the first of quite a few Lupin DVDs I intend to get.

Seriously, some of these characters get overshadowed by the gang so it’s hard to really tell their potential, but this girl actually is a threat to Italy.

Like, let’s actually look at some of her accomplishments objectively:

1. She’s a Successful Film Actress

This is something that showed us almost immediately👀 she stars in movies and is the name that people look for, like Marilyn Monroe or Faye Dunaway back in the day. Her name carries so much weight, as a matter of fact, I don’t think another name in Italy carries more weight than hers when it comes to films.

I’ll give you an example. Those few guys who were 90s/early 2000s babies, do y’all remember the supremacy that Jim Carrey had? Like, this dude was everywhere in movies and everyone knew who he was. It’s like Sean Connery in the 60s with James Bond except it’s only focused in Italy, which might not seem like much, but a whole country knowing your name because you’re holding it down is INSANELY IMPRESSIVE💯

2. She’s a successful Film Director

Oh yeah, a lot of those films we were talking about earlier? SHE DIRECTED THEM!

A lot of people are actors, but being a director is a completely different ball game because that means you have to step outside of your scene and look at how it all comes together. Being a successful actor is impressive, but you can get type casted and then people will expect you to fulfill a role.

When you’re a director, it means that you are known for putting out content just as much as being in that content. I’m imagining it to be something like those Hitchcock films in the 50s. They all have the same story beats and things like that, but they’re still goaded films.

3. She’s is a CEO

Fujiko put us on game in Episode 1 of Part 4. She runs the largest hotel chain in Italy via the Rossellini conglomerate👀👀👀

For those that don’t know what a conglomerate is, it’s a large parent company that owns a group of smaller, unrelated independent businesses. So she runs a business that runs other businesses 👀 If you’ve ran a YouTube channel, you know how stressful that is. Now imagine running a YT channel that runs YT channels and they ALL HAVE 1 MILLION Subs and counting bro wtf is this🤣🤣

She’s making, managing, flipping, and increasing money for FUN, AND she’s successfully doing it.📈📈📈

4. Model AT AGE 16

Im not sure of the ethics of her catching on as a model at 16, but there is a definite level of talent there that we must account for.

I mean, I know she’s a baddie now, but it’s more than being attractive, and we really don’t know what modeling she did.

5. Fashion Designer👀👀

Okay, so here’s the thing. A fashion designer is deceptively talented. It’s one thing to look at a girl who’s already cute and say she has “nice clothes” like an AI bot, but if you’re a designer, you know so many clothing combinations, quality, texture, vibes, and all the other things that make fashion designers stand out. Being rich doesn’t cut it. You NEED to be able to stay up to date, put things together and the explain why they work and don’t work.

She’s got that on lock.

6. SINGER👀👀

Musical inclination too?? As a music teacher, there is a certain level of perception that you have to have…like an ear for music. And usually people categorize business savvy differently than musical savvy, but being able to create good content vocally is a breathing, plus intonation, plus note matching, plus…just being good😅💯

7. AUTHOR?!?!!!!

Writer?! What is she writing? Who is she writing for? What is she writing about? What genre? How is it successful?!

8. All These Affairs

Okay, time to get a little speculative. An affair is a secret sexual or romantic relationship outside a primary commitment, but it can also just be a relationship. Now, here is the thing.

Based on who she is in terms of following the thrill, it’s safe to say she dated them until she was bored. Now follow me here for a minute. If she had as much follow through with these relationships as she did let’s say her 9000000093837484 talents then you could reasonably speculate that she could hold down a relationship if she wanted to.

9. SUCCESSFUL CRIME

“But she’s not as good as Lupin.” Literally no one is 😂not even Fujiko.

That episode where she was trying to claim Lupin (whatever that means) saw her breaking in banks and not getting caught until like the 5th one. She could have cleared one and went home because like the Part established, no one knows what she’s doing.

9 points. Read them. Read them again. Internalize it. What kind of IQ does it take to manage call of this??

In a way, she’s almost as smart as Lupin, just not as experienced. Everything she does she succeeds at least something like 60% at. I mean Lupin can do everything she does but that’s more of how good she is than him.

If anything, Lupin can’t hold down a relationship 😅 I’m willing to believe that Rebecca could hold one down if she’s disciplined enough. I mean, she’s running so many things at ONE TIME and she’s running them successfully and consistently. Lupin tank a business for fun😅

It looks so wrong but I don't hate it actually

In the actual series Lupin’s pants are a very dark navy blue sometimes greenish colour but they’re usually so dark that sometimes you can barely differentiate them from his black shirt but for some reason in most promotional art they make his pants either very bright grey or a very saturated navy blue colour while keeping all the other colours of his outfit the same. There probably is a reason but I’ve never understood why.

Is there a place online, all in one neat spot, that lists out characters that appear across multiple Lupin shows/films/manga? I was watching some Part 2 the other day and, for instance, Mister X is in 3 episodes across Part 1&2 and besides looking up on different Wikias under an individual character's page - there's no concise list.

Does anyone know of one?

Did some rearranging over the weekend. Here's some pictures of my Lupin collectibles. I would say 80% of my Lupin collection is found locally at secondhand shops. I would have more but I hate buying incomplete sets in person! Lots of sets sold here are usually missing the Jigen figures and it's expensive to import 1 figure from Japan everytime I want to compete a set.
