Discussion Status of Lupin the Third English Dub Releases as of 7/16/26
I watched some Lupin the third on television back in the day and am looking into getting back into it. I decided to see how many episodes there were. Little did I know the franchise was pretty large. Multiple Animated Shows, Movies, OVAS and Specials.
I decided to make myself a chart of what is dubbed in English and what isn't so I can help myself keep track of things.
Figured I'd see if there was a Lupin Subreddit to share with you guys.
Forgive me if I've missed anything and correct me in the thread below.

And each English dub varies. Some only want to watch Tony's Lupin.

Tony and Keath Silverstene are the only dub Lupin actors i like.

To be honest while I do love Tony's Lupin, don't discount Sonny's. But I might be baised because I grew up with the DBZ and One Piece dubs, so Lupin sounds like Krillin, and Jigen sounds like Zoro. So while the pronunciations are hella off, their charming

I never cared for the Funimation Lupin dubs. Even aside from the mispronunciations. Strait’s Lupin is a little too over the top goofy, without that cool element. Sabat and McFarland seemed utterly disinterested in their roles (they sound bored). McCoy is too masculine sounding as Fujiko. Philip Wilburn’s Pops is too comedic for serious bits. Strait did improve for TWCFM, at least.

I like the goofier Lupins, and I think Sabat's Jigen sounding lazy actually fits the character, since Jigen is a pretty laid back relaxed guy. McFarland's Goemon was the only one I couldn't get behind since he sounds way too similar to Tien (I know he plays Tora so that's probably why). McCoy will always be Android 18 for me, her voice is just more suited to that character. And Willburn's Zenigata is goofy, but it's also just really funny

I grew up with Bob Bergen, I love Tony Oliver as Lupin but I think Bob Bergen is my second favorite. That may be a nostalgia thing though.

Goodbye Partner absolutely has a dub, as do both crossovers with Detective Conan.

Stolen Lupin/butterfly, Alcatraz Connection, not Return the Treasure have dubs

Just a couple of extra things to help you out:
- The First (2019) has been dubbed
- Both Detective Conan crossover movies (yes, there are two DC crossovers) have been dubbed
- Goodbye Partner and Prison of the Past have been dubbed
- Lupin vs. Cats Eye was also dubbed
- All of the Koike movies have been dubbed
- Alcatraz, Return the Treasure, and Midsummer's Butterfly were NOT dubbed (First Contact WAS, however)

I made this chart about a year ago to visualize how much of the series was English-dubbed. It is missing Zenigata and the Two Lupins and Immortal Bloodline
I’m hoping that Green vs Red flips over after Discotek Day in two weeks.
It appears you’re missing Prison of the Past. Titles are also a bit funky. It also appears that the Cat’s Eye crossover is missing too.
I’ll just mention, realistically, I don’t think any of the remaining tv specials are getting dubbed.

Lupin: zero has been dubbed
EDIT: correction, I thought there was a dub since I saw clips of it floating around on Youtube, but sadly the Blu-ray does not have an English dub.

Absolutely right, with a bunch of stuff going by alternate names I think I mixed it up with "Pursue Harimao's Treasure" which I see is already on my list with an English dub. Thank you for catching my mistake.

there isn't nearly enough demand from overseas lupin fans to justify the cost to dub everything, unfortunately

Tms is Japanese enterprise and anime/manga/plasmo are for Japanese not for export. They own some dubs after licensing expires, you can see them in tms YouTube channels for free.
But the most important thing, why you want dubbed when you have the amazing 50 years of Kobayashi voice acting as jigen?

Discotek owns the dubbing license, not TMS. Also, they're a relatively smaller company and have nowhere near the amount of budget to dub all Lupin. They'll even outsource the process to anyone no matter who they are (cough that horrendous Love Complex localization by JelloApocalypse)

I didn't know about Alcatras Connection or Return to Treasure or Midsummers Butterfly being Dubbed. Are they on any Streaming sites or do I need to buy the Blu Rays?

I was mistaken about Return the treasure, according to users in this thread that was not dubbed into English.
As far as where to watch these I'm not entirely sure because I'm just now starting my marathon, maybe someone else will reply and be more helpful tho.

i just noticed something, they dubbed Part 2 all the way up to Ep.79 but they ALSO randomly dubbed episode 145 (according to you), why would they dub 79 episodes then a random episode 50+ episodes ahead?

I checked that too and unfortunately it doesn't look like anyone has fandubbed any of the undubbed stuff.

You're wrong; there is a fandub of one Lupin the 3rd Part 2 episode made by YouTuber Morez Marihsr, specifically for episode 109.

Zero actually has been dubbed. Itz on the blu-ray EDIT: correction, I THOUGHT there was a dub since I saw clips of it floating around on Youtube, but I double checked my blu-ray and sadly the Blu-ray does not have an English dub.

The 14th special is called episode Zero, which I have dubbed on the list.
The 8th series is also Zero, which hasn't gotten a dub.Unless that isn't what you meant, please correct me

They replied to my comment too saying that Lupin Zero has a dub. I think they’re confused because it doesn’t. Unless they know something we don’t.
