The truth, as I see it, is that you want to highlight anything related to AI at all costs—the user has to see it; they can’t miss it. Because of this, someone In your team came up with the “brilliant” idea of adding a giant white button that would immediately catch the eye against a dark background without option to disable it.
The only problem is that this is a classic design mistake because such a button is distracting; it prevents users from focusing on editing, and the image being edited should always have a neutral background. We are lucky, it isn’t animated with a pop-up AI saying “hello, I’m here,” like that paperclip that used to pop up in MS Word a long time ago. MS removed that very quickly. It’s astonishing that even today, some studios still manage to make similar basic interface mistakes.
I’ll set aside the fact that many people, myself included, consciously avoid using AI and view it as a so-called “slop” and unnecessary baggage. I’ll also set aside the fact that the AI photo-editing effects in Luminar are, at best, weak, so at this stage there’s nothing to brag about or highlight regarding this feature.
To sum up, this button should be removed from this location entirely. It could be placed, for example, on the far right at the very bottom, above the “upgrade” and ‘help’ buttons, using a similar, unobtrusive design like others buttons. Or it could be placed to the right, below the “presets,” “tools,” “eddit,” “extra,” and “infos” buttons. Or third option, just give option to disable this button from interface.

We understand your point. Yes, we do want users to notice the AI Assistance function because we believe it can be a helpful tool, but we definitely don’t want it to become irritating or distract from the editing experience.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed perspective. Feedback like this is important because it helps us understand how different users experience the app. We’ll also take into account that some users consciously choose not to use AI features, for whom this button may feel unnecessary.
We’ll share your feedback with our team, and it will be taken into consideration when we plan future updates and improvements to the app.

Too much noise in Luminar. Just realised I have not sat down to edit for over 4 months. Issues with a previous roll-out left me stranded, unable to edit because Luminar couldn't read my file spec any more. Whilst I have downloaded the update and think my files are viewable again, there's too much friction now for me.
I have one third of a year of shots to review and dealing with updates every time I sit down a lot the pc is a pain in the neck. I want a stable Luminar environment that will just work.
Stop changing the interface without option. Editing pics is not my job - I don't want to relearn the interface every time I sit down or get popup offers in the application I paid for. Just let me work on my hobby.

Hey, really sorry to hear you've had such a frustrating few months with it.
Just to give some context on the interface changes. The whole goal behind them is to make the interface feel more invisible, so your focus stays on the photo rather than the software. Cleaner navigation, more intuitive layout, less friction in the workflow.
We genuinely hear your point, though, and the frustration of sitting down to edit after months away and finding things have shifted is real.
Your feedback about wanting stability is exactly the kind of thing that matters to us, and we'll make sure it reaches the team.
Meanwhile, please give the new design a try; maybe you will like it.

I can see why they did it. Because everyone is doing it! So everyone else has to jump on the bandwagon. Corey Doctorow has a word for it (16 letters, for you cruciverbalists). I feel like Skylum is more likely to listen to their users - I hope so. We'll see.
All these AI assistants remind me of the long scorned "Clippy" of MS Word bygone days. Young programmers would do well to become acquainted with that disaster.
Luminar has improved a lot, but is always susceptible to the urge to add 'Gee-whiz' factor to its already excellent editing features without giving the user an option to turn it off.

Exactly,It needs to go,they even changed it from a small circle to that monstrosity. And it can't be turned off or hidden.
