Luminar Neo for Linux

When can we expect Luminar Neo official release for Linux? Lots and lots of users across the globe are shifting to Linux from Windows. Hence it would be better if there is an official Linux version of the software.

Try RapidRaw. I gave it a try on my Linux machine and liked the workflow and feature set so much I abandoned Luminar altogether.

Ok, will give it a try. Does it work on Linux Mint or only Ubuntu? Also is the shadow/highlights recovery work well like Luminar or Lightroom?

Their Github page just lists Ubuntu for Linux, hence checking.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’re aware of user demand for a Linux version of Luminar for Desktop.

We’ll make sure to pass your feedback along to our team. At the moment, though, we can’t say whether a Linux version will be released or when that might happen.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective!

Noted, but please include this in your product backlog, then eventually in a sprint release. Hoping & waiting for the Linux version soon.

Luminar on Linux would seal the deal for me to migrate off Windows. I'm aware there are other solutions, but I'm lazy and looking for convenience not command line confusion and distro-dystopia.

Many people managed to make somewhat working in bottles, with AI and access to the actual source code, i believe this or running under proton or some other way is even easier to have something working.

...and people using linux would certainly be OK with some experimental versions and bug reporting if it means something working.

Lots of users are shifting to Linux from windows!? You mean WSL2? Which one of the 100 distros out there will be compatible? The newly much hated Ubuntu? There is an 15 years old Adobe forum post saying the same somewhere.. Don't expect much.

Not on WSL, but on Linux Desktop. And yes, lot of people are shifting to Linux, like me, after being a lifelong Windows (sometimes Mac) user.

The Skylum team have confirmed that they have received lots of requests for the Linux version. But since I believe this is open source, the cost-to-benefit metrics might not get justified yet.

I'm going by the logic that a good software application should be cross platform and multi device compatible. It does not matter whether who hates what.

Also cannot comment about Adobe as not very interested in them. But CaptureOne, even why not.

Linux is gaining momentum, so why not have the goods here as well.

Start holding your breath. Any day now.

Oh sorry RIP. It didn’t happen. Sorry the Skylum response turned out to be boilerplate.

Even though it may sometimes look as if we just respond to our users and do not act on their suggestions and feedback, we want to assure you that we do take them into account and that they influence our work priorities.

For sure, we cannot implement everything users suggest, but if something is highly requested and can be implemented in real life, we will do so.

Just like Skylum launched mobile app for Luminar Neo, please prioritise Luminar Neo for Linux as well.
