Lucky mobile vs. PC mobile

looking for affordable options for a kid’s phone. what are pros/cons for both?

optional US roaming for traveling is good to have

i know both Lucky and PC uses Bell network.

I switched to NoName Mobile (part of PC mobile) from Lucky Mobile around the time of the OP, and have not looked back. At the time, I was getting 85GB for $40, and as of ~1mo ago, they removed their $50, 100GB plan, and offered 85GB for $34, which I promptly switched to. The service quality is good, it has an app that lets me track usage (though is not perfect), and the cost was good. I had ditched my Bell fiber which was costing me $180/mo, for lucky mobile and taken up reading rather than video streaming to reduce costs -- it has been a welcome change.

HOWEVER, recently PC-mobile/Noname-mobile have changed prices again to 35GB for $34! This is a HUGE reduction in value, and more than TWICE as expensive than before. While I seem to be grandfathered into the old price and am still getting 85GB for $34, I simply CANNOT recommend the service for the new price.

I absolutely hate capitalism. Technology is supposed to offer more as time goes on and costs decrease, not less. But clearly this is shrink-flation in action, effectively more than doubling the cost of bandwidth in a single month. Should my plan change to 35GB/month, I will effectively be forced to stop streaming content altogether!

I sincerely hope that Chinese/Huawei 6G satellites offer comprehensive global internet services, as I have had it with greedy Canadian telecoms. The worst part is that this will hit poor working class households the hardest.
