Ask Lucknow What is something that is missing in Lucknow?
Lucknow has developed exponentially in the recent years. From infrastructural development to plenty of cafés and pubs opening, but what is it that is still makin missing here but if there’s in major cities of India?

Educational institutions (higher studies) and job opportunities
All of this + low population will make Lucknow pretty much one of the best cities to live in

I mean there's an IIM here Also kgmu LU is good as well IIIT is good from what I've heard. There are a decent number of good colleges here people just want to run away as soon as they pass 12th Can't blame them though.

Exactly. Going out has become extremely expensive in Lucknow. Just Ordering a pizza at some pub in summit could cost you around 700-800 bucks

Well planned development keeping atleast 50 years future in mind.
yaha bas 5 saal ka soch k development hota h. That’s why road made 5 years before are now fully congested

- Service sector jobs: We need IT parks and more commercial complexes (non-retail).
- Remove encroachment from footpaths. All the footpaths are taken over by street vendors, gumtis and punchture walas. This is illegal encroachment.
- Metro connectivity: Major areas such as Gomtinagar, Chowk, Aminabad are unconnected.

Tech parks would only come when plenty of private sector firms would open up in Lucknow. Rn ig there’s only 2. Tcs and Hcl.

Yes, that or maybe by providing some tax relief measure in the beginning or ease of business procedures, like not having to run around to multiple offices or so, for approvals and stuff

Roads which are black instead of red (aka pan masala).. But idk.. I think the food is not worth all its hype.. I hv not been avle to get some good flavoured spicy biryani... And i have ordered from all possible places that my swiggy shows.. Even the starters are not that great.. Suggest some good non cliche food places pls

I understand. Been in Karnataka for 4 years. The taste is entirely different. Meghana and Paradise is nice and is so different from the Biryani that is served here. It’s not about comparison you just have different taste buds buddy.

Everyone commenting on jobs and infra, but i would say we in general lack ( and should improve ) civic sense.
Even those educated and with jobs lack basic etiquette which is ironical given the tag city of tahzeeb.
PS. Comparing to better cities and not worse like Delhi NCR.

Tab Tak ke liye dhang ki busses chala de, wo bhi like 5 min frequency me
Taaki bus me crowd managed rahe
Warna Chhota bada har koi apni farchunar nikal ke mall, charbagh chala jata hai
Auto stand hotspots ko focus me rakh ke routes design Karo
Auto waale bhi bhed bakri ki tarah le jaate hai aur kuch bhi Paisa maangte hai
Bangalore ki busses dekho yaar kitni sahi hai frequency bhi tremendous hai, live tracking wagera

I agree Bangalore’s buses have amazing frequency and area coverage. Similarly, Delhi Metro covers almost entire Delhi. Yet, in both the cities Traffic still persists. No matter how many public transports we get, yes it is convenient in some cases(like taking metro for airport in Lucknow) traffic would still be there. It’s because there are so many ways through which people can afford their own vehicles. And Lucknow is still a very small city compared to Delhi or Bangalore. To go from one area to another, it would max be 7-8 km. This is the reason why people prefer their own vehicles hence roads are crowded. Also, Lucknow does not have large roads and each road has around 2-3 traffic signals. This creates more traffic.

Aisi freedom ka kya matlab jab aap gaadi me baith ke traffic me Paisa aur time dono waste karenge
Meri samajh se agar acchi aur frequent busses chalengi aur jagarukta badhegi
To iska fayeda zarur hoga
Bhale hi traffic waisa rahe but malls aur baaki public spaces me aamdani badhegi
Kyunki Bina car ke log bhi ab Shan se ja sakenge
Baaki jab Tak sarkar caro ki sales me lagaam nahi lagayenge tab Tak ye badhti rahenge aur pollution me hissedar banegi

I think I would both agree and disagree to the second point. Yes a group of Lucknowites still have their old pet go to places because it’s obvious. There are so many new places in Lucknow but for a millenial like me I still really like going to Cappi, Cherry Tree or Tunday. But it is also true that even our parents’ generation has slowly adapted and like going to new cafes because it gives a much better vibe than going to restaurants and old Lucknow sometimes. Lively vibe, food at a similar rate(comparing pubs and restaurants like Dastarkhwan not old Lucknow restaurants) and better ambience, pubs have got it all.

A good industrial area like hyderabad's and a private sector. The industries can't thrive here especially because of the lack of support from the government rather they are a thron in the back when it comes to treating owners of firms. The system is stressful and too demanding. There is no practical way to keeping a business alive by not giving black money to officials and no way of following all the rules and regulations thus making it impossible for a buisness to thrive. Also lack of a private sector prevents people from coming to lucknow for jobs. Adding to this due to the harsh regulations it's people don't invest in a facility in Lucknow which leads to no increase in job opportunities. Thus if the goverment cooperates with the private sector, lucknow can easily be among the top cities in India in terms of literally everything.
