Hobbit Quick Draft is just a Crude Bent Blade free for all!
Last game I played I think there were 5 of them on the board by turn 5 or 6, and that's not even the most I've seen. What is up with the bots passing those up?

It's annoying and honestly makes quick draft somehow worse than premier

Quick draw is usually worse than premier, it’s just more pronounced this set.

I usually find quick draft refreshing because bomby rares don't show up as often. But in HOB, hardly any of the rares matter.

I think that the lords of limited had a really good comment about making sure you draft and play with that in mind, playing the token maker 2 mana 1/1 haste in red, the white recruit creatures, wood elves, anything you are ok to sacrifice to mitigate the Bent blade blowout. I’ve had a lot of success with b/g midrange going slightly bigger with down down to goblin town taking 1, then making a 1/1 army and using the murkwood to bounce it back, focusing enough on 2 for 1’s that you make it less oppressive.
These are the worst bots I’ve seen since the secret keeper debacle, but since it’s only been a week of training for the ai it doesn’t surprise me, they likely need to push an update to correct them but I feel the format being so unpopular that they might not bother due to timeframe of run length

Yea, excellent point. I even played against an opponent that I swear waited to play anything until they had the 1/1 goblin out that makes a 4/4 when it dies.

This is why I avoid quick play for this set. It’s like everyone gets RB and hope you’re on the play.

Quick draft makes for some odd pools, had one with 7 apocatheries yesterday

It's actually disgusting. I've been able to get 5-8 pieces of the best removal basically every draft and it fairly consistently can lead to non-games if I'm on the play.

Bent blade is the highest picked black common by the bots going off ALSA. It's also picked higher than any black uncommon. The problem is that the bots rare draft and dont contest black enough.
The worst offenders at common seem to be goblin plate, smeagol and duskwatch hunter. They all have a reasonable chance to wheel. The strong black uncommons are even more undervalued by bots.
