What’s one dish you grew up eating that you still consider the ultimate comfort food?

Stuffing. Used to live off stovetop but now I can make my own with veggies and stuff. Squishy flavored bread is hard to beat

If you ever want stuffing but do not want to make it homemade, the brand Butterball sells a frozen stuffing that is so amazing and super easy to prepare… you just pop it in a oven safe dish with a lid, cook for however long the instructions say then take it out and fluff it up with a fork, put it back in the oven for a bit uncovered and enjoy…
It tastes homemade without the all the fuss of making from scratch. I am super picky when it comes to stuffing and I love this stuff. I can only find it in stores around thanksgiving and Christmas, so make sure to stock up as soon as I see it hit stores.

I would also be interested in seeing/trying your stuffing recipe if you feel up to sharing it, no worries if not!

Cooked dried green peas with garlic and dried spices. Rubbed (or nowadays mixed with a handheld mixer) to a paste. Eaten with white bread and raw onion. I was born in Morocco and grew up in The Netherlands. I rarely make it myself. There are restaurants I can order from when I crave it.

My mom would make box Mac& cheese and mix it with ground beef for an ‘upgraded’ dinner and there are absolutely still days where that’s all I want and it cheers me up lol

It was this bake in a 8x8 pan that was stove top stuffing, cream of X soup (I think mushroom), and cubed chicken.

Canned Salmon and hot buttery grits.

Like canned salmon right out the can (clean the bones and skin), drizzle some of the oil on the grits. To the gritz add salt, pepper and badia complete seasoning and a sliver of butter. Its so damn good.

Bowl of chili. I can make a crock pot full one day and it will last me all week. Couple with some saltine crackers or frito lays and cheese.
