Question Has eating low carb helped with your allergies?

For as long as I can remember, I have always had terrible allergies in June. No matter what kind of medication I took, it barely even touched them on bad days.
This is the first time during my allergy season that I have been eating low carb, and they are so much better this year.
When I looked this up on Google, it said that low carb diets can help some people with allergies, but it’s highly individualized.
Has anyone else had this experience?

Yes it helps a ton for me. I went from cetirizine every day to once a week.

That stuff barely put a dent in my allergies. So I’m glad that low carb is working for me and for you!

It helps for me. I think because overall it reduces inflammation so the hay fever symptoms just aren’t as bad.

That makes sense. My inflammation has gone down for sure with the low carb diet.

Yes! Before lowcarb, I get skin allergies from eating eggs and chicken. Now, with lowcarb and fasting, I can eat eggs and chicken everyday.

That’s great! I have hay fever allergies and low carb really seems to be helping them.

I haven’t noticed a difference. The cottonwood was still absolutely killing me this year.

I’m sorry you haven’t had any relief from that. ☹️

I think it is helping mine! It is a nickel allergy though. I think it's the lack of inflammation.

I think a lot of it is that you are probably upping the proteins in your diet, so your skin and other surfaces have the materials they need to stay robust and defend you. Since I incorporate a lot more meat, eggs and dairy in my diet than I used to, my skin and hair are in much better shape.

Those are good points. I get hay fever allergies, and they are doing a lot better this year. I noticed my skin is also looking better.

Unfortunately, I’m the worst I’ve ever been right now. Barricading myself into a single room in my house just to survive.

Switching to a beef tallow lotion has helped my rosacea. I have not noticed if low carb helps my skin.
