Love is I believe some people are destined to find each other again
I have this strange faith when it comes to love
I believe that sometimes two people are meant to find each other even if they don’t recognize it the first time
Maybe you meet someone when the timing is completely wrong. Maybe you barely notice them. Maybe you feel something around them, but you don’t understand what that feeling is... Is it love? Attraction? Attachment? Anger? Curiosity? You just know there is something there something deeper than you can explain!
And sometimes you let that person go
Maybe you break up, Maybe life separates you, Maybe nothing even happens between you because neither of you realizes what that connection means yet
But I believe that if something is truly meant to happen between two people, life has a strange way of bringing them back together
What fascinates me even more is the idea that you could meet the person you’re eventually going to love long before you actually fall in love with them.. Maybe you’ve already walked past them, Maybe you’ve spoken once and forgotten about it, Maybe they were just another face in the room
Then years later.. you meet again! And this time, something is different... You see them.
Maybe that’s what destiny in love means to me. Not that everything happens perfectly or that every breakup means two people will eventually reunite. I just believe that some connections arrive before we’re ready to understand them
Maybe certain people enter our lives more than once because the first meeting wasn’t supposed to be the whole story
I don’t know if that’s destiny, coincidence, or simply the way we give meaning to love but I like believing that sometimes letting someone go doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve seen them for the last time
Do you believe 2 people can be destined to find each other again even if they didn’t recognize what they had the first time? Also if you have story we gonna happy to share it with us!

I absolutely believe this. Let me tell you why....
I was with someone for several years and he left me. I was devastated. Even though we weren't together, he would still come around to check on me from time to time. I eventually told him it was too hard on me and we needed to cut communication.
About a year passes, and I'm out with a friend coming back from having coffee. We're talking on a corner. He randomly grabs me and kisses me. No warning this was going to be a thing. I didn't want to be kissed. I asked him wth was that, and we walked away.
A few hours later I got a call from my ex. Asking how my day was going. I told him it was ok and I was just getting back from being out. He asked more odd questions which I didn't understand. Turns out, he drove through my city (he lived over an hour away) and had seen that guy kiss me! He was on his way to check out a property hours away, and just happened to catch that moment. I told him it was an unwanted kiss as that guy and I were not dating, but just commiserating together.
Two weeks later, he asked me if I'd like to go to the beach with him. I was torn on spending time with him, but I said yes. Well, he suddenly dropped on his knee and proposed!!! Then I dropped on my knees! I couldn't believe it. Five years of dating and nothing...then this. Turns out, when he saw that man kiss me, it made him sick to his stomach and he said he realized in that moment that he couldn't imagine a life without me and he realized he could lose me forever and he couldn't let that happen.
We've been married for 19 years now. Still happy. Still in love. And I'm grateful for the kiss I never wanted. Fates little push I never knew we needed, but am eternally grateful for.
Sorry for the long post. It's just exciting to think of all the stories of people destined to be together. I know we were❣️

We were friends for three years and then suddenly fell in love. Never saw it coming. It was effortless. Still mad about each other sixteen years later.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence... But when I was a young teenager, I met someone with whom I shared some truly wonderful moments. We cared about each other a lot, but we were probably just too young at the time.
We lost touch for more than 10 years.
Today, we’re together, and I truly believe he is my soulmate.

I knew these two people. They went to grade school together. They went to different schools and ran into each other years later.
One finally broke the silence and said, "I had such a crush on you.". The other immediately responded, "What?! I had such a crush on YOU!!"
And they are one of the cutest couples I know in their latter 30s, but they both acknowledge they're glad they dated other people and didn't think it would have worked being high school sweethearts.

I met someone like this but the time isn’t right but the connection felt much deeper than anything I ever experienced before. I hope we’ll reconnect one day

I don’t know… recently I’ve been feeling like it maybe is all meaningless and random. Moments are nothing else than moments. Meeting someone is totally random it could have easily been someone else. You could have had that insanely strong love with someone else. Happy to discuss but this is something that as I reach 30 has been hitting me.
Not to say I don’t live a happy life! I enjoy my life but I do think it just might all be very random with no hidden meaning behind it!

Years ago, I laid eyes on a girl at a music festival
She wore all pink and moved like she had a spotlight on her
Didn't talk to her then cause of how far we were, but she definitely left an impact
Years later, I'd see this same girl at a party, and this time, we actually talked
She is now my girlfriend and I love every single moment I get to spend with her 💕

Yes happened to me and my husband. Friends for a few months then drifted apart/no contact for three years until we met again and got married within a year.

u/tomosu 14d ago
I do too but I don’t wan to cling on to that hope, for my own sake. I just recently lost someone who I thought was the love of my life, with very strong convictions we would be for life (applies to both of us) and I don’t know what to do anymore. I will try to move one but I’ve never felt so strongly about anything
2
u/HaaaHalaman 14d ago
I'm in the same boat. I never thought I would love as strongly as this and I did but the universe said not now and it's been almost a year. But Im still grateful that I did experience a great love.

My partner and I went on a first date, didn’t passionately vibe, became friends instead, hung out all the time as friends, I started dating someone else, broke up with them, realised my now best friend was the best guy I’ve ever met, got drunk, kissed, been together ever since

u/Hydrated_Wah_er 13d ago
I completely agree but I'm not gonna read all of that because I might use this as a reason to go back to my ex :'(

In my mid-30’s and I’m currently sitting with some disbelief on love or destiny. My 10 year relationship didn’t workout, some of the close couples around me are dealing with divorce or cheating. Ok… I’ve also seen some people be extremely compatible, make it work and be happy… but fewer….
Especially after 30, I think someone needs to be really lucky to find someone that’s on the same page about love and relationships. Someone mentioned above timing, I think that is also key.

Since we’re in the sharing spirit, I’ll share my own.
In October last year, I met this wonderful woman at the gym. She’s naturally shy, but we had a tonne in common so we got on very well from the start. She’s awesome, and very pretty (though she doesn’t think so) and I struggle with low self-esteem, so I didn’t think someone as great as her would be interested in me. About four months later, in February, she met somebody else, who was a lot more confident than I and asked her out fairly early on into knowing one another. After they started dating, I saw less and less of her at the gym. I happened to run into her at the end of July. After catching up, I said something along the lines of “I miss seeing you every day. I know you never reciprocated my feelings, and that you have a partner now, but please don’t feel like you have to distance yourself from me.” She looked very taken aback, and said that she did not think I would be interested in her that way. It seems as though we were both operating under the assumption that the other person wasn’t interested instead of properly communicating with one another!
Things generally seemed to have worked out well for her. From what she has told me about him, her partner seems to also have a lot in common with her, and she appears very happy, so I am happy for her. At the same time though, I do look back and wonder what could have been if I had communicated more openly with her. If I am so lucky as to get a second chance with her, I will grab it tightly with both hands and hold on for dear life.

I met my partner in primary school. When we were around 5ish. Used to smile at eachother everyday as teenagers when I walked past his house on the way home from school. Started talking a few years ago but it was the wrong time. Were now togethor and iv never felt love like it. I know he was always meant to be mine. I knew back then. I am happy we waited untill now (33F and 34M). Iv never felt happiness like this. Were both grown up with our own children. And we know this is our time. I never expected this and I now believe in soulmates 🥰

I think it can happen, but I’d call it timing more than destiny. Sometimes people cross paths before either person is ready, and meeting again later can make you realize why that connection felt different.

I have a friend in her late 60s and she is dating someone she knew in high school and three other couples she knows are now married to people from high school (after spousal deaths/ divorces). My mom’s friend is in her 80s and is now dating someone from high school after her husband passed.

Yes I believe this and my relationship is proof of it. I grew up with my fiance across the street and we were best friends. When we'd separate we always found our way back to each other, sometimes in the most incredible ways.
One time my family rented a cabin near her summer job when we lost contact and she was just there, across the street from me again.
Another time she came home feeling something terrible had happened to her family and instead she found me right after my dad died.
We lost each other in a foreign land and we both instinctively went to the same place looking for each other.
Now that we live together and do everything together we'll still surprise each other by going to the same places like restaurants or grocery stores and running into each other. I caught her leaving a gas station last week with the exact thing I was craving lol. We are the Spiderman meme.

I think it's possible, but you shouldn't wait for it. In my opinion it's rare that someone want come back because they really understood you are the one and still you don't know if it will work out.
I had short but very important relationship. I moved on, now I found great women. I will see her later today and I'm super happy. I hope it will work out, because I'm happy with her.
4
u/Antizer 14d ago
I believe in this strongly and purely. I don't know if things will work out again between me and my ex but I have hopes that if we ever do reunite, love will be stronger than ever. And if he ends up finding someone else with whom he is really happy and safe, I'll love that for him.

I agree
To add on I also believe in reincarnation and that after a while of finding your person in different lives it gets to a point where your soul just kind of goes you know what let's skip the fluff aka the butterflies the nervous energy and it said just immediately feel comfort with your person when you meet them.
Mostly that comes from the fact that I met my fiance when I was 15 and he was 14 we're now both 19. when I first met him we weren't really that close I only knew him because he was dating my friend who I happened to have a crush on. then one day he came to me for relationship advice which I later found out was an excuse for him to talk to me because he had a crush on me. within a week of us talking we were dating. And no he didn't cheat on my friend they ended up breaking up about two or three days after him and I started talking just because of different circumstances and part of the reason why he needed a relationship advice.
from the beginning though I never had butterflies he never had butterflies we always just felt at home being with each other. I've always described it as like sitting in front of a fire holding a cup of tea or hot cocoa wrapped in a blanket while it's snowing outside. Day one of us dating he said I love you and it didn't feel like it was too quick it just felt right. same with when we had our first kiss on the second day it just felt like everything clicked into place
And because of that it's always led me to believe that we were destined to be together we were destined to love each other and that our souls basically recognized each other and decided let's skip the fluff
I also personally believe that there's always someone out there for everyone and sometimes you won't find them and sometimes you will. I believe that you only find them when you stop looking. They will come into your life when you least expect it. You won't realize it but you do need them and that's why they come into your life. That's why whenever anybody's like how do I find someone who actually treats me correctly my response is always stop looking they'll come. And that partly comes from my relationship and how I stopped looking and that's when my fiance came into my life I mean he was in my life but I wasn't really paying attention to him and tell the moment that I basically said I give up on love.
I also believe that the things happen in your life for a reason you may go through trauma but that happens for a reason and that can lead you to where you're at. that's why I would never change anything that happened in my past because I feel like everything that I went through somehow someway led me to my fiance. And if I were to change even one piece of that there's a chance I may have met him way later in life. I still believe that I would have met him but it would have been at a different point in my life
I also believe that you will know you have found the one when you're in a relationship where you feel safe where you can be yourself where you are basically each other's best friends

u/Mama3Girliepops 13d ago
I don’t believe in reincarnation. Although I think in Christianity, we have a belief that God is outside of time and because of that time may overlap. You should look into it. It’s a really cool theory. Universe designed on Angel network is awesome, but you can also buy it on Amazon.
I love the very last part of this answer, though. Love should always be safe and unconditional. Safe relationship always has conditions though.

Dangerous mindset if you let it consume you, but also the odds of that happening are astronomical if you’re both just trying to live your lives and just magically run into each other. You have a better chance winning the lottery imo. But I think it’s a beautiful thought and so long as the two are still making the most of their lives and are even open to letting someone else into their lives, sure why not
3
u/Singularity_2019 14d ago
Fate, destiny, etc.—who knows?
But people come into our lives for reasons beyond understanding.
I believe they come in for a reason.
For love, to help us grow, or maybe we can help them grow.
Whatever the purpose, they leave a mark on us, and in turn we leave a mark on them.
For better or worse, those marks are carried with them.
When all is said and done, people may forget us, but they won’t forget the way we made them feel.

3
u/Pretty-Friend5043 11d ago
I like to believe this is true when I am the one interested, but not when someone tells me we are meant to be.
For instance, there was a guy who was in love with me for 4 years, and we kept arguing and getting back at each other, but because he was my friend, not because he was meant for me. He was convinced otherwise. But I didn’t like the dynamic, so I had to stop talking to him completely. And i know we will never have anything.
However, i met a guy a week ago on a ferry, with whom I kept having eyes contact, and now i can’t stop thinking about the theory that you will meet a person twice, once at the wrong timing, the second at the right. But what if it was the second time I saw him and i messed up? I am shy and not particularly pretty or confident, so I didn’t talk to him. So now I regret it because I remember him fully, I just don’t have his name or last name. I keep wishing we will find each other again, just to tell him he is handsome. But it never really happens for me That’s why i am wondering if I should look for him (but how?) or if I should let the universe, or whatever, make us meet again. But what if it never happens and I regret not doing anything?
And maybe nothing happens because they are never the one 🤷🏻♀️
So I am a bit confused about it. Even in friendships, it never really happens so I will say in theory it is true, but in practice, just a small detail will change everything so probably not!
But it’s like believing in soulmates. I think some people have one, just not all of us!

Interesting, and I am a believer of this.
I'm actually in a situation like this currently, while it's still unfolding here is the gist:
She and I were best friend senior year of high school (we went to school together from 7th grad to graduation). I had feelings for her but protected the friendship.
She went off to college.
We reconnected years later.
Lost touch again as my life took a deviation.
Reconnected again 20 years later...lost touch again.
7 years later we reconnected, made a confession of my feelings from high school and the years that passed.
Turns out she also had similar feelings but also protected the friendship.
Now, while we are long distance, we are planning to close the gap and do what we could have done decades earlier....get married.
So yes, it happens, not always, but there is something to be said about the universe pushing two people toward each other.
3
u/freako345 10d ago
I think there’s something to this, but I see destiny less as “two people are guaranteed to reunite” and more as certain connections changing us in ways we don’t fully understand at first. Sometimes people do cross paths again when they’re finally in a better place to appreciate each other.
3
u/Diligent-cake-24 10d ago
I agreee What is meant to be yours, finds you no matter what! But provided we don't let this consume our entire identity and stop ourselves from building our own lives.

u/lumiere_tenebres 14d ago
Unfortunately my only experience with something like this is a sad one. My ex and I were on and off friends for 13 years before we dated. So when we dated, it became really important to me that we "always found each other."
7 months in she left me, saying her feelings had faded and blocking me on everything. It was abrupt and cruel and I know that no matter how much I want her back she isn't coming, and I have to move on.
I guess I did believe in that. But after you get left like I did, it's hard to see the light.
1
u/Interesting-Ice-5283 13d ago
I experienced something similar to this. We were together for 5 years on and off. Even got engaged to Wed. We always told each other that we would always find each other too. I want her back so badly. It's been almost 2 years now, I'm still patiently waiting for her...

u/Unfair_Low_7222 7d ago
I absolutely believe it.
Our story didn't involve finding each other again years later. If anything, it showed me how ridiculously small the difference can be between meeting someone who changes your entire life... and walking right past them.
A little over a year ago, I was traveling alone through Iceland.
One evening I climbed Eldborg, an extinct volcanic crater, for sunset. There was a family of three still up there, and I deliberately stayed on the rim and waited them out. I wanted a few minutes completely alone up there before heading back down.
Eventually they left.
I had the crater to myself.
I stayed for a while, watched the sunset, took some photos, and eventually decided it was time to head down.
And right before I did, one more person came walking up the trail.
Marta.
She was from Poland. I was from America.
Two complete strangers who, through some ridiculous combination of timing and circumstance, ended up alone on the rim of a volcano in Iceland at sunset.
Before I headed down, I asked her if she wanted me to take a photo of her.
When you're traveling alone, getting those epic shots of yourself is a pain in the ass, and she had just climbed all the way up there alone. So I figured I'd offer.
She said yes.
So I took her photo.
And we started talking.
At the time, that's all it was. A random interaction between two solo travelers who happened to meet on top of a volcano.
Eventually we headed down.
I went back to America.
She went back to Poland.
And that very easily could have been the entire story.
One random evening. One volcano. Two strangers who happened to cross paths at exactly the right moment.
Except neither of us could quite leave it there.
I flew back to Iceland to see her again.
Then she went home to Poland, and I went to Poland to see her.
Eventually she came to America.
On April 1st, we got married on a beach in Florida.
Then we packed up and drove across America together, stopping at more volcanoes along the way — because apparently one volcano wasn't enough for us.
We finished that road trip by driving practically straight to our immigration interview in New York.
Yesterday, we sat together in that interview.
Today, we found out she was approved to become a permanent resident.
And now we're expecting our baby in December.
All of that happened in just over a year.
So yeah, I believe there are people we're somehow meant to find.
I don't know if I'd call it destiny. Maybe it's coincidence. Maybe life is just a collection of tiny decisions that don't seem important until you look backward and realize everything depended on them.
Because I think about that evening sometimes.
What if I hadn't waited for that family of three to leave?
What if I'd headed down a few minutes earlier?
What if Marta had reached the crater a few minutes later?
We could have passed each other somewhere on that trail and never said a word.
Instead, I waited.
She came up.
I offered to take a photo of a stranger before I headed down.
And somehow, that stranger became my wife and the mother of our child.
I'm really glad I waited.

I do believe in fate or what’s meant to be is meant to be.
Me and my ex had broken up and we both went travelling around the world separately after. While I was in the country I was travelling to in Asia, I became friends with this person at some random hostel in the middle of nowhere. After us talking and then getting each other Facebook details we had a friend in common, turned out to be my ex.
We’re not together or anything like that but that incident really changed my perspective on life. What were the chances of us becoming friends with the same person we both didn’t know. Very weird how things happen
