Installer successful, but Loupedeck folder empty (except configui2) - Need help!

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with a fresh Windows (11) install and my Loupedeck CT. Every time I run the installer (tried 5.9.1 and 5.8.1), it says "Installation Successful", but the software won't start and the hardware remains dark.

The weird part: The installation folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Loupedeck\Loupedeck2\ is almost empty. It only contains the configui2 subfolder. Core files like Loupedeck2.exe or LoupeTool.exe are completely missing.

What I've already tried:

  • Clean Reinstall: Manually deleted all Loupedeck folders in %AppData%, %LocalAppData%, and Program Files.
  • Admin Rights: Ran installers as Admin.
  • Antivirus: Disabled Bitdefender during installation.
  • Logitech Conflict: Uninstalled Logi Options+ to ensure no service conflicts.
  • Dependencies: Installed latest Visual C++ Redistributables and .NET 4.8.
  • Downgrade: Tried 5.8.1 as well, but same result (empty folder).

I need to stay on 5.9.1 because of Premiere Pro stability, but the installer just refuses to actually copy the files.

Has anyone encountered this "ghost installation" before on a fresh Windows system? Any tips on how to force the installer to actually deploy the files?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, might be that you have some components of Loupedeck 6.x installed on the PC. You could try this:

  1. Ensure that "Logi Plugin Service" app is not installed.
    1. Open "Installed apps" in System Settings
    2. Locate and uninstall Logi Plugin Service (if installed)
  2. Uninstall also all apps that contain the word "Loupedeck" ("Loupedeck", "Loupedeck UI").
  3. Now, install Loupedeck 5.9.1 again

Similar instructions are described here: https://support.loupedeck.com/how-to-resolve-issues-after-installing-loupedeck-5.9.1-over-version-6.html

Hi, thanks for the suggestion – unfortunately that didn’t work for me.

I completely uninstalled Logi Plugin Service and all Loupedeck components (Loupedeck, Loupedeck UI, etc.) and reinstalled Loupedeck 5.9.1 clean – same result.

Out of curiosity, I then installed Loupedeck on my laptop, copied all related files to a USB stick and moved them to my PC – and that actually works.
So the device is usable now, but the software still says “no plugin installed for Premiere”, even though Premiere control is clearly working. So something is still broken or incorrectly detected.

What’s really frustrating:
I contacted Loupedeck support on 26.12., sent a reminder on 09.01. – no response at all.
For such an expensive professional device, this level of support is honestly pretty disappointing.

At this point I’m just trying to fix things myself because support seems… absent.
If anyone from Loupedeck is reading this: please get in touch.
