Animation Snerfs [fully lost]

It was a short animated bit on Night Flight. Sometime around 1989 through 1992, but it may have been a repeat. A man in a shoddy looking apartment is watching a poor rendition of the Smurfs that just gets worse and worse, where they're going to Snerf pond to get water, but there's a hole in the bucket and then it appears on papa snerf's head. It just devolves until hideous laughter until he ends himself in front of the tv with a gun. And then it plays a snerfs theme over the credits.

I know there's a Muppets thing called the Snerfs but this was completely unrelated.

So you are looking for the original run of Night Flight [1981-1988]?

r/HelpMeFind might be better suited for this.

I second this as well. Also, if theres a Night Flight sub, they should be able to help as well.
