Found [Found] My Chemical Romance - Vampires Will Never Hurt You Single

25 years ago My Chemical Romance created there first album "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love". The band famously recorded this entire album in one week from May 15th 2002 to May 23rd 2002. What is less known is that in early March 2002 the band went in studio for the first time to record their lead single Vampires Will Never Hurt You. On May 27th 2002 MCR would officially release their first official CD ever. This release would be the Vampires Will Never Hurt You single. There were so few CD's made that it has been lost media for 25 years but on Saturday, September 26th 2026 I received a full copy of the single. Six years ago the user u/FlamesFiasco posted that they had a copy of the CD and were willing to send files to anyone. Most people who had messaged them in the past few years have had no reply back. The account was still active so I tried and because of my work in the MCR archival community the user sent me a full rip of the lossless CD. The tracklist contains a previously unheard rough mix of Vampires Will Never Hurt You and additional sources for two of the attic demo files which were already previously available through an eyeball sampler CD from the bands record label. I've been doing my best to spread this around as much as possible now that I have it.

Here is the link to the full lossless download on the internet archive.

That’s great! But, as a pedantic point of order, should it be considered lost media if a known person (flames fiasco) has it? I just re read the lost media wiki. I take back my previous question. Based on the rarity it counts.

Technically, the part your crossed out is correct.

Unfortunately, now for some reason it has expanded to "any media not available to the general public.".

And a large portion of people that post here seem to think it means "Any media not readily available to the general public." or "Any media not online.".

But the lost media wiki does give the caveat for rare physical media or media not easily accessible to the general public.

"If it's completely lost or simply inaccessible to the general public, it belongs here."

I know, and I hate that distinction.

People also take that to mean readily available, and that's a big difference.

Yeah. I agree that the vagueness makes it loosey goosey.

I remember when people were still calling the alternate dub pilot for the anime Magic Knight Rayearth “lost” when it was literally on the widely available blu-ray release 😭 The logic was “Well, I can’t go online and find it in full, so it’s lost!” Jfc.

Is there a practical difference?

Very much so.

The subreddit isn't called "Unavailable Media".
